Installation is no problem and After you install the plug-ins in VST, Submitted in the utility lines installed, allows me to convert it into Audio Units.
I start Logic and everything works perfect.
If the global configuration is fairly straightforward, other points are quite complicated, as take advantage of the 4 stereo output plug-in.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
I work with a Mac Powerbook G4 533 and 867, both with 1 GB of RAM under OSX Tiger. As the plug-in goes through the DSP Powercore Firewire, my computer does not use resources for this one, so I can concentrate on my cpu sequencer.
This configuration works well for me with Logic by Abelton cons of live, it's too hell for the buffer rgler & co ... Every time I run the virus ... Plantade is my ordis, and I am even a fatal error ... Therefore tweak the rglages (PowerCore Abelton +), up to do .... trs is long and tedious (I have also not yet ...)
OVERALL OPINION
I use it since January 2006
It works great, and the sound .. anything wrong, it's a virus!!
That said, even when there are some bugs that make its use a bit sucks!
Premire at the level of automation. APRs have a record automation on the virus, you have to save the project and close / reopen to be able to hear / see ffectues automation.
Deuxime point, as I said above, it is quite long and tedious for beginners at least, to set up its slopes to enjoy the Stros 4 channel output. And the end of the day, we can make a single automation of effects (the virus) on only one of the track.
So if you want more freedom and really enjoy the plug, it is better to take a liscence which allows to use multiple virus 4 (1 per DSP) ...
Finally, I think it's my Systm inefficient ... I can not do automation in real time during recording and turning the fader controller for my MIDI. I have a standard latency, especially ca me curves mega jerks ... Then I have to redo all the time curves in mice.
Finally, I would say there are a lot of small bugs fixed, but a Manir gnrale, the price is well worth the purchase, to enjoy the sounds and effects of the virus, that said, for the live, as SAVE a little longer and buy the hardware ERRF!
