Pepp, new music creation app on iOS
Video game designers for iOS, Epicore, have launched on the AppStore a groovebox, arpeggiator and synth app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
Pepp allows you to create music easily thanks to a smart harmonic and rhythmic engine, so you don’t need any music theory knowledge to use it.
The app features 10 synth oscillators and 5 drum oscillators, with sine, square, sawtooth, triangle, wavetable and noise forms. Also included are FM synthesis, high and low-pass filters with resonance, a delay, reverb, intelligent arpeggiator, advanced rhythmic engine, as well as resampling/reloop functions, detune, portamento, gain, glissando, tempo multiplier and +/- 2 octave transpose features.
Pepp also offers MIDI clock, notes, CC and Latch/Gate and you can play the app directly from your MIDI keyboard or sequence it within your DAW. Pepp supports Audiobus.
The GUI includes 16 sliders and a 16 step sequencer, along with a 160 slot memory to store your ideas.
Pepp is available for free at the AppStore, but some features are disabled. You can then unlock the full version via in-app purchase for the special price of $4.99. Demo videos are available on the dedicated Facebook page.
