Introduced as a ToneMatrix, Xynthesizr allows for creating evolutive ambiences thanks to its built-in morphing feature, but also drones and much more.
The GUI offers a grid with color code for the length-variable 32 step sequencer and two morphing algorithms are included. Transposition, key and scale can also be controlled.
The synth offers a 16-voice polyphony (12 on the iPhone 3GS), 2 oscillators per voice, sinus, triangle, saw and square waveforms, a 4-pole 24dB/octave resonant low-pass filter, a Detune control, 2 ADSR envelope generators, 2 LFOs with 4 destinations (filter frequency, pitch, amplitude, second oscillator detune), as well as a reverb and a randomized panner.
Yuri Turov also added, via in-app purchase, recording and audio export via SoundCloud, mail and iTunes options, custom scale creation, custom rules for one of the morphing algorithm and the ability to save presets and patterns. Each one of these options is available for 0.89€.
The app is compatible with Audiobus and can be downloaded for free from the AppStore.
