I just got the upgrade from my Proteus X2, 5 days after purchase online at E-MU, though.
Installing the upgrade nickel on the first try, which was not always the case in previous versions ...
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
I've always had problems with the Proteus X even in its latest versions with XP SP2. I happened frequently during the launch of Proteus X, everything hangs, with a mandatory reboot to solve the problem.
Miracle, since the X2, this has completely disappeared and I can start and quit Proteus X2 as many times as I want, all without having to reboot.
Adding features TwistaLoop, Morph Filter have to take a little overweight at app that allocates tranquillos 70M memory on its own without having loaded any of its bank.
Question CPU, no visible difference from the version 1
Ergonomics are good and despite some changes, does not fundamentally change from version 1.
Rem: The screenshot of the product has nothing to do with this app. This is a desktop version 1.
OVERALL OPINION
A new CD of sample ESC Xperience comes with the upgrade which can have a little fun with the function TwistaLoop. There are nice loops in it.
Overall I am happy because I finally have the satisfaction of working with an app that does not crash once on a 2 at launch.
You will say it's a bit strange to be obliged to pay an upgrade just for that, but we must also admit that the new features and ESC + Xperience are interesting.
So for owners of ProteusX, the upgrade is needed and it is affordable (€ 56 online on the site)
