Native Instruments announced Kontakt 4, a new version of the software sampler.
Kontakt 4 establishes features the new “Authentic Expression Technology” (AET).
“With AET, the dynamic tonal behaviour of original instruments can be replicated in new and highly expressive ways, ” the company says. The technology is designed to enable the transformation between the spectral characteristics of different sounds, achieved via a phase-corrected convolution technique based on FFT analysis of the original sample.
Kontakt 4 also has a new sample compression technology, an expanded sound library and new controls, as well as a new sound browser.
Other improvements in Kontakt 4 include the Kontakt Script Processor (KSP), which now offers “Multi Scripts.” The new version also offers new design possibilities for Performance View panels.
Pricing & Availability
Kontakt 4 will be available in October 2009 for a suggested retail price of $399 / 379 EUR, and will also be part of the new Komplete 6 bundle.
An update for owners of previous versions of Kontakt will be available for $149 / 129 EUR.
