SonicProjects has announced the release of OP-X Free and OP-X Player, two new mini versions of their OP-X synthesis, featuring Separate Voice Design (SVD).
Both of them contain the same engine as the full OP-X while offering only a few parameters on a cut-down user interface. They are essentially preset players at a low price.
OP-X PlayerOP-X Free is completely free and contains eleven selected original OP-X sounds. It is not possible to load further OP-X sounds and there is no automation or MIDI remote control.
OP-X Player, priced at $39, is fully compatible with OP-X and comes with a full factory soundset of OP-X patches, including strings, solos, brasses, Jupiter, Prophet and Minimoog sounds. OP-X Player is also able to load and play any OP-X patch with identical sound as in the big version and comes with the full original OP-X patches library containing more than 500 sounds.
OP-X Player can be upgraded to OP-X for the price difference ($59) which will give access to all parameters for more detailed editing and creation of your own patches from scratch.
All plug-ins in the OP-X range are available as VST instruments for Windows.
