Biggest Ever Audio Mixing Contest is ON!
They are very inexpensive and have the proper connections to work with other gear. They are small and can be moved easily. These are the perfect monitors to hook up to video game systems as well with the aux input connection. Most speakers/monitors do not have this input so that is a plus with the AV 30’s. These particular monitors are n...
They have a nice build and finish to them, and won’t scratch easy. Tannoy has made many great sounding studio monitors if you want to spend some more money but I can say that these 501 A speakers are a great choice for a home musician with a smaller set up. This cannot be mounted or hung up they are desktop models.
These monitors have large bass reflex tubes and XLR/RCA connectors. The tweeter is 4 inches and has a velocity ratio of 4:1. There is a control panel with high shelve, low shelve, and tweeter gain. The A8X has a crossover frequency at 2300 Hz and an input impedance of 30 Kohm. The precision and quality of these speakers in build and in ...
If you cannot afford to purchase a better set of monitors then you will have to work with these. They could work just fine if you adjust your ear to work with them and feel them out. If you can save some more money to upgrade I highly recommend doing so because in the long run this will not last and give clean radio sounding mixes. The s...
There is a low cutoff frequency at 35 Hz and a high cut off frequency of 22 kHz. When I turn this speaker up to max volume it still delivers a clean and crisp sound. Some of my music has bass that is over exaggerated on purpose but these speakers handle it well. It almost gets too loud and I have to make sure I turn everything down. The ...
If the low end sound was a little cleaner when turned up to high volumes I would say that these are some of the best speakers you can get in this price range but that is where I feel like they differ from the KRK G2 speakers. The sounds are almost identical except for the low end and especially at high volumes you can hear a huge difference. If ...
I have mixed some of my best work in the KRK Rokit Powered 8 G2, and I am able to really understand how to get things to have their own place in the mix and still stand out. After using the KRK G2’s I am not able to go to another pair of cheaper monitors to mix because the difference is huge. I love the low end, it is nice and tight but still b...
The LED meters on these monitors will let you know if you are clipping by displaying a “red” color instead of the standard “green” color. The frequency response is 50 Hz to 40 kHz with a maximum output level of 101dB. These monitors should have been my first choice for near field monitors; and if I could do it all over again these would ...
The highs are clean and sound great; so do the mids. I was very impressed with the overall warmth of these monitors and coming from the Rokit’s it took me sometime to retrain my ears to mix with these. The bass and low end frequency response was very clean, and that was what was throwing me off. I had never had a pair of monitors at my home stud...
For musicians looking for a pair for monitors for their home studios, the KRK Rokit 6 speakers are a reasonable choice. Unless your home studio is properly set up with acoustic treatment, room dimensions, and isolated from other sound sources (computer noise, performing insturments, etc) investing in super high-end, expensive speakers is a bit o...
