Biggest Ever Audio Mixing Contest is ON!
Given the price of these used, they're a pretty good buy for those looking for an all-in-one solution with the hardware mixer and mic pre setup. While I'm more of a digital software mixer kinda guy, these definitely serve the market for those who want a more hands on kinda feel when recording and mixing.
I generally don't recommend this pre as much as others simply because it has USB 2.0. The pre itself sounds decent for the price, but there's still some congestion going on, and if you can afford a nicer preamp with firewire, I'd check that one out instead. However, if you're working on a limited budget and can only use USB devices, this isn't...
I prefer this unit over the regular Mbox 2 simply because this has firewire. The software bundle that comes with it is solid, it's easy to set up, everything is self contained without any breakout cables, the price is pretty good and it sounds good as well. If you're looking for a good mid level pre, check this out.
While overall this isn't my favorite interface at all, the fact that the Digidesign Mbox 2 Mini comes with Pro Tools LE, really makes it worth it. I'd recommend it for anyone who wants Pro Tools and doesn't need all that much to work with, or whom doesn't want to spend too much money. As far as getting Pro Tools LE goes, the Digidesign Mbox 2 ...
The Digidesign Mbox 2 is a digital audio interface (A-D converter) with two analog inputs (4 with S/PDIF) and two analog outputs. It is USB powered and has no monitor latency. I am a student, musician, writer, and pretty good line dancer residing in beautiful Nashville, TN. I've been a drummer and guitar player on and off for the past 10 years...
I first used the Digidesign Mbox a number of years ago and don't use it anymore because I have another Digidesign audio interface that I use, but this will still get the job doing for doing basic recording or for simply running Pro Tools. While the preamps really don't sound all that great, but if you are doing demos or just getting down some i...
The sound of this interface is pretty good. It's not incredible, but not many of its kind are. The price of this interface is really fair and reasonable. I have slowly upgraded my interfaces, and haven't tried any that are around this price range other than this one. However, at this point, this model more than serves my purposes.
I've been using the Digidesign Digi 003R for about a year and a half and have found it to be a pretty good audio interface. If I didn't need it to run Pro Tools, I would probably run it with a different audio interface, as this doesn't have as many preamps as I would like. Compared to the Digi 002R, it is pretty similar in overall make up and th...
I kept this interface for six months. Protools is an amazing audio editing software and it gets better with every update (if you have enough money to pay for them). But the interface is not good: it has only two inputs (L/R), it generates a permanent hiss in your monitors, which is luckily inaudible in recordings unless you use plu...
I've had an Mbox 2 for about a year and a half and it is great to have around when I want to do some recording with Pro Tools on the go. While the mic preamps aren't all that great, they aren't terrible and capture a very usable sound. While the Mbox Micro 2 will allow you to edit and mix on the go, there is no audio inputs, so even though this ...
