I used to use Logic at Version 4 to 5.5 on PC back in the day. When Apple bought it and made it Mac only I went to use Samplitude/Sequoia who used to have the same distributor and wrote the Logic audio engine. Years later at version 9 I actually decided to give Logic another shot since by then I had switched to Mac (thanks to being able to run i...
On things that stands out with Express 9 is the power of the mixer and effects. I love the compression and options that come with it. The compression is something that a lot of software's don’t focus on any more. It seemed like Express 9 focused a lot on the mixing part of making great sounding music. I really appreciate the fact that you have f...
In the end, Logic Express 9 is a great program that comes with the bare essentials of Logic Pro 9. Many people may say that it is just a glorified version of Garage Band, but I find that there are several important additions to Logic Express 9 that make it worth its rather relatively cheap asking price.
There may be a little bit of bloat to this program, but Apple hides it; Logic is just a beautiful program upon opening, and you have no idea how comprehensive it can actually turn out to be. It is regrettable that I myself do not currently own a Mac, for if I did, Logic would be sitting on it, open all day.
Apple has this great deal that they offer when buying a mac called One to One. You can meet once a week with an Apple trainer in the store to learn how to use Logic or any other apples software for $99 a year. I've been using it to learn how to mix and I highly recommend it.
The only thing I would like to see better of is reverb plug-ins. Maybe I am a reverb snob but I think Apple could do better with the plug-ins and default presets. Don't get me wrong, they are great but not in line with the greatness of the rest of the suite. Logic 8 just works. No troubles on my iMac Core 2 Duo. Works per...
Overall What I like most about Logic 9 is its extreme ease of use. I feel like a pro studio engineer when I use this program even though im just a making music at home kind of guy.. Making crossfades is a piece of cake, writing automation is a breeze and fixing mistakes with the new (and amazing) Flex tool is unbelievable. You can instantly d...
Logic Pro 8 has since been surpassed by Logic Pro 9. However, 8 is still a great DAW. I was contemplating if it was even worth it to switch to 9 for the longest time, but I eventually gave in. The biggest downside to Logic Pro 8 is that it's only 32-bit compatible. It'll work on a 64-bit OS and computer, but you'll only be able to run it in ...
Logic Pro 8 is hardly different from GarageBand, except you have to pay an extra 100 dollars for it. Logic Pro 8 and GarageBand share the same traits, same configuration, same performance, same setup and the same tools. Logic Pro is nothing but a fancy name and a new design for people to buy but if you really get down to undersand it, it's not s...
From right when I started playing with Apple Logic Pro 9, I could tell that this was a big step up from Logic Pro 8. I thought Logic 8 was put together very well, which it is, but it is definitely worth the upgrade to 9. It has a ton of new features to provide more control, as well as new virtual instruments and sounds. It doesn't cost all to...
