The clean channel is just ok, but the gain is pretty bad, in my opinion.
(I have an amp that I paid $50 for that has a better lead channel.)
This isn't the best, and that's probably why it was quickly discontinued.

The clean channel is workable, and it's got reverb.
I guess you could fix the distortion with a pedal.

I'll go back to either all tubes or all solid state.
All tubes has been way better for me, but I have had a couple of solid state amps that are great for bedroom practice. This isn't one of them, unfortunately.

The clean is ok to decent, the gain channel was work to get even a bad sound.

SOUNDS

Clean with reverb is what I was looking for, and it does it.
I'm still regretting this purchase.

OVERALL OPINION

No, I probably wouldn't buy it again.

Primarily a singer, I've been playing guitar for about 10 years, been in a band (drummer!), and have continued to record and play with other musicians on a non-professional basis. My styles range from folk to hard rock, with heavy power-pop leanings -- Big Star, not Green Day.

I bought this amp at Guitar Center on Sunset Blvd. in L.A. for $200.

It has a very organic, complex overdrive tone, with one clean channel and two overdrive modes, all footswitchable. Plenty of adjustment options, with three volume knobs, two sets of EQ knobs, and pre-amp and power-amp choices. The clean tone is good and blows the clean tones of my previous Marshall amp out of the water. The amp is responsive to varying playing dynamics, and can cover all the styles I like to play.

It's really not that portable, being heavy and long in shape, harder to balance. Also, the top handle sucks, being hard and restrictive to the hand, and the plastic "chicken head" knobs feel much flimsier than the metal knobs on a Marshall. Takes about a minute to warm up as well, but the sounds are worth it.


The sturdy cabinet, grille cloth and shiny Vox logo all radiate class, but I have concerns about the plastic knobs, as described above. They feel like they could chip or shatter with just one knock of the guitar.

I tested this amp against my old 15W Marshall MG-series amp (bought for $180 in New York in 1998) as well as a $300 Marshall AVT-series valve amp. The Vox' tone beat the Marshalls in both cases. Ever since my old Marshall 15W Valvestate amp got stolen, I had been aching to find a small combo that had the right amp overdrive, response, and clean tones I want. This Vox finally fulfilled that expectation, and after two years of using the Line 6 Pod as my main amp, I'm finally going back to using an actual amp, and the sounds of the VR30 are the reason. Aside from the carrying discomforts and the weak plastic knobs, this amp is fantastic.

This is an amp Valve Reactor The series, so there is a 12AX7 tube in the prampli, the rest of the amplification being performed by transistors.
It dlivre 30 Watts firmly packed.
At the connection between a guitar, a headphone jack, an output add a speaker and a jack for a footswitch.
There are two distinct channels with legalization (and bass trebble for each), a clear channel (with rglage volume) and a Distortion channel with gain and volume rglage. A small switch provides a dose supplmentaire saturation.
It was then a master volume and a rverbe.

UTILIZATION

Configuration is very simple, we can find the sound we love so well on the grain Vox.
Manual level I have not been so l. .. Anyway it will be easy going (no effects Intgr)

SOUNDS

For my part I play rock seventies (softphone, Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hendrix ...) and that's exactly the sound I wanted to be, for info I play on Cort M600.
Level in its clean, I found a small amount of crunch not unlike dplaire me, but to get crystal clear sound (but can not prtendre of Fender) must play the knob.
I really love the sound of this amp overdrive crunchy typ vox, and the hair of compression that can see clean.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had one week, I also have a AD120VT and I dlaiss because I am more focused on the amps crude, which is the case of the latter, I will even tempt to say that he own characters.
I bought 300 euros, and I do not regret it. I think I'll invest in a footswitch to switch between channels.
Not really for the love and VOX sound like me who can not afford to buy an AC30 is a good choice.

UTILIZATION

Trs ais of ACCS for everyone (a boy of 4 years can use it ... although it's not really advice ...)

One weak point, the small size of the gain switch to ... minnuscule so ... Prvoyer a footswitch!

SOUNDS

With rglages, there are ways to do a little of everything ...
Personally, I play mostly saturated (yes, we do not remake ...), and the sound is frankly trs well! In addition there 2types of saturation, all 2 INTERESTED.

OVERALL OPINION

I ratchet 150, having an APRS vox 15R, what power level diffrence!
I am satisfied with TRS, APRS while Brian May has always jou on Vox, and who does not like Queen?? For beginners it's really not bad, and APRS YMMV for more ...
