At new these units come in at around $160, which isn't a bad price for a very high quality and functional digital delay pedal. To me it is much more simpler that an Eventide Timefactor or a Diamond pedal. This pedal is small and compact and does a lot for the money.
Boss finished manufacturing of this pedal back in 2008. You can find these pedals in the classifieds and on ebay all day long. I have seen new ones fetch about $170 on ebay and used ones go for right around 4120. not a bad rice for a great sounding and over designed digital delay pedal.
These pedals were discontinued back in 2003. You can still find them in the classifieds and always on ebay. I see them on ebay for right around $100. Some people ask more for theirs but they won't get it in this market. $100 is the right price for this pedal in the used market.
At new these pedal come in at around $139, which is a great price for this pedal. This is a great delay and will last a long time touring or gigging. Boss pedals have a great build to them that make them great night after night of playing. Even large amounts of abuse will not keep these pedals.
This is a beast of a delay pedal that may be overkill for some people. The amount of options can be overwhelming but you don't have to use them all. The standard delays alone are better than any other digital pedal I have ever owned. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a feature full delay or anyone who is concerned with sound quality a...
I have heard of problems with people loosing loops and other hiccups but I never came across this in the 2 years I owned it. I think I am in the majority when I say that I used this pedal in looper mode 99% of the time. The delays sounded fine and I'm sure there are people out there that love the separate "head" outputs but I thin...
Now the bad part. This pedal is notoriously unreliable. It's seemingly constant failure is actually how I acquired it. I repair pedals as A side job and I fixed this one in particular so many times that the owner gave up on it and let me keep it. They are very picky about power and sometimes just shut down and will not power up unless you know h...
I gave this unit a great because I wish it was true bypass. It seems MXR picks and chooses which pedal are going to have it. MXR says this pedal is true hardwired which I am still trying to figure out what that means. If it is the same as true bypass then sweet. So that kind of bugs me that they would do that, but hey you can always get it modif...
For real analog echo it's hard to beat this pedal. There are others with more options and longer delay times but the simplicity of this is part of the charm. The only downside for some would be the power supply, size, and the older models have an always on preamp. Most of my other pedals take standard 9v power so having one wall wart is not a bi...
If you're looking for a crystal clean looper with tons of play time, lots of features and layering capabilities, look elsewhere. This pedal is meant to do one thing -- create a musically rich loop that's played back with some natural compression. He also threw in a few tone shaping knobs to help get that unique sound you're looking for. How u...
