«  A Metal Zone and worse »

The ML-2 distortion pedal from Boss is supposed to allow a big guitar sound on 6 or 7 strings, and Low.

The pedal is very light compared to other brand models. One has the impression that there's nothing inside.
It is probably digital.

UTILIZATION

Usage is very simple.
The manual is not necessary.

An input jack, an output.

4 knobs:
- Gain
- Level
- Low
- Treble

SOUND QUALITY

I used it with my Ibanez SZ320 with microwave Gibson 500T and a Mesa Boogie Studio Pre.

The grain is detestable, it is much like a Metal Zone.
Therein lies the problem with this pedal!
Really cold.
My old photo 2020 snatches much is saying ...
Any amp simulator will give you better sound.
On guitar, whatever the setting is done, the sound is low end.
Compared to Dist-X, the ML-2 is ridiculous.
Less effective than a Fuzz on Bass.

Poor. It is subjective.

OVERALL OPINION

You'll understand that this pedal does not stay long in my pedalboard.

I had most of the large distortion Boss (HM-2 HM-3, MT-2, MD-2, FZ-2 and ML-2).
This is the worst of all.

If you like this kind distos in there, better get the MT-2, it has the advantage of having a 4-band equalizer.

On occasion, you will find cheaper pedals, and sound better.
I would not recommend it.
