Line 6 POD X3
Mortal Kastor Mortal Kastor
Published on 12/27/07 at 09:29
Pramp modlisation, continued:
- 78 modlisations guitar amp, 60 bases on about "real" amps (the rest is style "line 6 insane ...")
- 24 modlisations of baffles (MODL Varis enough, there are the classics with some originality as the 2X2 "fender mini amp transo)
- 4 modlisations microphones for the speakers transplant (3 DIFFERENT microphones, one - the SM57 - in two separate positions)
- 28 modlisations bass amp, 22 speaker cabinets, microphones and 4 low
- 6 modlisations of pramp (from neutral pramp lo-fi)
- Hundreds of effects pedals, some modlises on pedals or known effects, one style tube screamer, maestro echoplex ...

Many paramtres ditables the pod, Publisher pc / mac prvu for early 2008 (a missing much).

Connections: a bit of!
Entries:
- Scratching / low (normal) mono jack 1 / 4 "
- XLR
- USB 2.0 (mean sounds pc)
- That's it! No noon! entrespare no bass / scratch (with the dual tone, yet ...) and especially not of the (unlike the POD X3 Live). Ms. my v-amp in a possde ... It really lacks.

Outputs:
- Headset (the pod config changes automatically if a headset is connected it is convenient) jack 1 / 4 "
- Digital output S / PDIF
- 2 output jack symtriques 1 / 4 "L / R line level.
- Usb 2.0: practice, it can record at the same time on the signal line tracks spares left, right, the signal mix the dry signal left, signal right dry, it's really well.

And all this is the format beans, quite stable and not taking too much space.

small rant against the price of pdalier CONTRL ...

I put 9 because of the connection a bit tight for 400, and the lack of firewire, which could afford to do without power supply when connected to pc, and the absence of a small footswitch included (there are sold with a v-amp. L must let go of a lot of money for pdaliers line6 ...)

UTILIZATION

The configuration is not strictly speaking gnrale simple. Ergonomic, yes (as far as can see a ton of paramtres). Simple, no. The consultation of the manual is mandatory to easily approach the craft. It is not too bad, the description of effects and amp is provided.

The connection to the PC via USB takes place without any concern, and likewise the upgrade firmware or drivers ...

The presets are plentiful and easily accessible for use in a hurry, but without cot 80% of the intrt bte. Do not take this unit to use plug and play (the pocket pod is for a).

I think the edition will be greatly facilitated by amlior when Line6 releases the editor on pc / mac.

SOUND QUALITY

Without going into the LORD dbat modlisation / sound directly, etc ...
Some modlisations are much more convincing than others. The X3 takes time for his paramtrer her to have a rsultat drinking, but there are ways to get something trs convincing. This is not the best I entedu modis, but the opportunities can do well.

J'apprcie much the aspect of "all in one" that allows you to connect and deal with several instruments on the same interface. J'apprcie a lot to find the characters of my instrument despite modlisation. While it is not as straightforward as when I live on a branch just lamps, but CHARACTERISTICS guitarist and instrument gums are much less than before (those who do not believe me test a v-amp then derrire x3) ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a few months Submitted and bought it from two perspectives:
- Mao a certain quality not take my head with transplanting before the amp, and standards can
- Its "all in one" (bass, scratches, micro ...)

I tried many things before (diffrent well as taking the microphone, VST, others pramp modlisation, loadbox with simulation of hp ...

Quality level is clearly not the best choice. Practical level, the extended possibility, is not against the photo.

Bought 395, the product is prcisment my needs, so in my case the ratio q / p is good. Someone who does not connect a PC or connections low / micro srieusement should look to other products ...
