I bought this guitar from American Musical Supply.

I paid between five and six hundred dollars.

I wanted a replacement Tele for the one that I foolishly sold two years ago.

    The neck is outstanding!

    It's birdseye maple.

I like the ash body. It's the perfect Telecaster for me.

I use it for rock and blues.

    Zero.

    Flawless Fender construction.

I suggest that you buy one of these!

    Vester Telecaster

I purchase my guitar from a local secondhand dealer. The original asking price was $260 Aust dollars. After looking at the guitar over a number of months I managed to pick up the guitar for $160. I wasnt that interested at first but the thing grew on me and after a close inspection and noticing the serial number stamped on the back I thought it must be a good guitar.

The guitar is a telecaster shape, white in colour with a silver fleck through the paint job. Pickups are two single coil and one humbuck. One volume and one tone control and three metal selector switches giving a full range of options on pickup selection. The guitar is really well balanced and sits on my knee without tipping b…

One volume and one tone control and three metal selector switches giving a full range of options on pickup selection. The guitar is really well balanced and sits on my knee without tipping back of forward. The neck is a nice shape with a dark ebony finish and shark fin inlays. The whole guitar looks the goods. The sound is a full range from mellow jazz to hard rock. I play the Vester through an Ashto 80W amp and its great cannot wait to try a few effects like delay and chorus.

Nothing much really everytime I look and pick up the guitar it just feels great and comfortable I have had a Les Paul and Strat copy guitas but this leaves it for dead. Would like to purchase another one for my son so he can keep his hands off mine.

As above good quality construction however the Floyd Rose tremelo broke and I have replaced it with a strat copy which fitted really well and still looks the part. I needed to have the head repaired which was easy so after spending $450 all up I belive I have a very good quality guitar and would really want for any other

Yep look at buying one and give it a go I am amased that they are not sort after and not becoming a collectors item. It will never be up with a Fender but I can understand why Fender threatened legal action in the 80's as they are really good quality

    Tokai Telecaster

    Fender Telecaster (1977)Published on 12/26/03 at 15:00
I acquired this tele copy new in the box from an individual on e-bay for $270.00 U.S. I wanted the 52 tele butterscotch look and couldn't afford $1200.00 to $10,000.00.

It is a pretty good copy, 3 spring bridge, look-alike tuners, butterscotch, vintage neck. It has a good sound, better, I believe than my Mexican tele, maybe not as good (or maybe as good) as my Am. Strat with S.D. pickups. I liked the price, they usually go for 399.99 U.S. out of Mike's Music in Canada. Claims that the Japanese Tokai is great and the Korean stuff is crap may be partly justfied: I hope so, since the Japanese units come in at over $600.00 used. Claims that the Japanese Tokai is great and the Korean stuff is crap may be partly justfied: I hope so, since the Japanese units come in at over $600.00 used. Still, for someone who wants the vintage look and superior sound, they might consider paying the extra $50.00 over a Mexican Tele.

The tuners are finicky, but the worst thing is the truss rod—no adjustment at the head. And that idea you had about reaching it through the pick guard? Forget it, it ain't happening, gotta take the neck off, so it's hit or miss; luckily I hit it first try, and it set up low and nice.

It's solid as a rock, just slightly lighter than my Peavy T-40 bass, which is just slightly lighter than a Honda Gold Wing. The body is supposed to be ash, and I found the finish very nice, but I am not expert enough to tell if the grain is real or painted in for effect. If so, they did a nice job on it.

I have a few guitars, Gibson Dove, Epiphone Dot 335 that has had all electrics and pickups and nut upgraded, a "Frankenstrat" Am. Fender with Seymour Duncans and one of the two lowest actions I've ever seen, the other being my Gibson SG with a melody maker neck and dimarzio/carvin pickup setup. I also I have a Mexican Tele, a Mexican Jazz and a Peavy bass, and so on, and they all play very sweet, so the Tokai will have to win my heart. Still it has very good sound and good action, although I'm not as traditonalist when it comes to the fat neck as I may have supposed. If nothing else, it is an eye catcher.

Purchased used from a friend for a starter guitar for $150.00.

Great style and sound for the price.

    N/A

    Well constructed.

For the price, this is a great alternative to higher quality, more expensive instruments.

I picked up this tele at Guitar Center. I added it to my collection of Gibsons (J-200, 335 and Les Paul Custom) because I found myself playing a lot of rockabilly and country rock arrangments, and there is no replacement for a tlecaster in those circles. I paid $799.

It's got a great high end, with a lot of torch and twang, and also gets really mellow. I play it with a ED-1 compressor and a Boss Am Factory box, run through a Fender twin.

I love the neck, too. I opted for the rosewood. It's a very sure-handed neck, comfortable to gymnastic chordings and legato runs.

It's a great rig. Ash body, rosewood neck. The hardware is orginal and works great. Very quiet.

I have played other versions of this guitar: G&L, Charvel Surfcaster, and various Japanese and Mexican knockoffs. But the American Standard is the real deal.

We're talking about a talking fender telecaster. mexican made. I received it as a christmass gift. from my lovely wife of 15 years.Since it was a gift I didn,t pay anything for it. but the cost at the time was about 340. bucks I think it went up about 20 bucks.

There are a few things that I like about the fender telecaster. Mexican made. First is the sleak contour body. You know it fits good sitting down or standing. The second is the controls. one volume one tone control one selector switch. What els do you need? not much to get confused about here. The feel of the neck and the size of the neck fits my medium size hands just right. Also the in line tuners make it easy to tune. Less cha…

Gibson people know what I mean. Last of all I t is really about the tone.Just plug it in in and turn It up and you will know what I'm talking about. A talking Fender Telecaster Mexican made. Good enough in the 50's.Good enough now.

I'm pretty happy with the whole thing. Nothing to cry about here.

The construction and the Quality of the Fender Telecaster Mexican made is about the best you can get for a guitar in it's price range.

In My opinion the Fender Telecaster Mexican made Is a instrument that cannot be improves on. Sure you can use diffrent woods. better hardware. ect. but you are not going to get one for an affortable price like this poor Man's guitar.

I bought this guitar in a music store called "Total Music", in Lethbridge Alberta. I bought the guitar for $247.00. The only way I can really tell you how I bought is with cash.:) I was looking for truck parts at a swap meet and happened to visit a mall with this music store in it. I started playing a Stratacaster, basically because I needed a new guitar, then I caught a Glimpse of the Telecaster behind the counter. I've wanted a Telecaster ever since I was Ten years old and saw someone playing it. I thought it produced a great blues sound.

I started playing a Stratacaster, basically because I needed a new guitar, then I caught a Glimpse of the Telecaster behind the counter. I've wanted a Telecaster ever since I was Ten years old and saw someone playing it. I thought it produced a great blues sound.

I like the Telecasters box shaped design, and the fact that the "Fender" name is a proud product of musical instruments. It has a low tension head which makes it easier to bend the strings for a nicer sounding solo. It also has a nice thick paint job. I liked the fact the most of it is chrome, and is a better guitar then what I have owned in the past.

Even though I have wanted a Telecaster for so long and really do like having one I have discovered a few problems in the way it was built. I don't like the fact that the screws are placed slanted, the pickup guard is lifting up in some places, and the bridge and the chrome knob part is too far away from the pick guard. The guitar has fret bars that extends too far out and scratches me while moving up the neck.

I think the construction of my unit is very poor. I do,however, enjoy the quality of it. The Telecaster has a bright, crisp, clean sound. It has a slanted pickup on the bridge which produces a "hermonic" sound. I prefer its maple wooden neck over most. I like the length and width of the neck, as well. "Fender" products have also been known to hold up under excessive abuse.

I think that the Telecaster is a great buy. Although the "Fender" rights were sold to "Squire" Who produce a less quality sounding product as well as producing a poor manufactured product, they have made it more affordable for people like me who have been interested in the "Fender" product since it came out.
