-All-tube amplifier (five ECC83 Groove Tube preamp and four EL34 power and (Sovtek) 50/100W switch output
-2 Channels, one clean and one lead, with a volume, Bass, Middle, and Treeble Presence for each channel.
-Series FX loop - footswitch jack for stereo channel change and reverb on / off.
Beautifully-finished, his sober style, very vintage is very pleasant.
UTILIZATION
A configuration-amazingly simple for such a receiver. Few minutes to obtain a more than satisfactory. Obviously, with time, he did make real wonders.
-The manual is quite explicit, it is a simple sheet of 4 pages of technical characteristics of the beast. It is still clear enough to get by easily (as long as one is comfortable with English). While it is not on the record that we judge an amp, you'll have appreciated a little more documentation.
SOUNDS
-Is it your style of music? : Answer "Yes". I'm a fan of Steve Vai and Patrick Rondat, and what I like the guitar solos are. And it is clear that this amp is a marvel for this style of music. The sound I get is simply amazing!
I jous on a Dupont JEM style, alder body, maple neck. Trend Micro Middle and Neck Bridge. Coupled to a simple multi-effect pedals BOSS ME-8, I approach the true live sound of Steve Vai. But whatever your guitar, this amp is resort the power of his microphone, be it clean in overdrive.
I jous currently in a room not very big, but if this amp is adjusted properly (it's fast, it is very easy to use), it is not a problem. Do not you "let go" anyway, because its power is amazing, and you might get you into trouble in the neighborhood.
The clean is beautiful. Simple, but not harsh slap, and is a purity disconcerting, with or without effect. A great surprise! Arpeggios sound superbly. I expected the versatility, it has exceeded my expectations.
The sound was a bit disappointed saturated without the effects. But it is sure to please anyone looking for a vintage style Brit well 70 '.
With my effects, I touch the tops! The sound is, despite the drive up, with astounding accuracy! For the lead guitar is a "must have"! Treble do not sound, they sing! My guitar is made for that, this amp and the second perfectly. The only default, the slightest mistake meant the guitarist sees himself as the nose on your face.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it since 3 months ago, but after much testing in-store, disappointed by what I tested (the famous Peavey 5150 Marshall JCM at 900, still very "pro" but I held to be a lack of " personality "is the default sound rude.) I fell back on this amp in a combo to save space mainly.
What I like most about this amp is its versatility and ease of use. The sounds it delivers are, after some quick adjustments, really superb, absolutely what I was looking for. (I recall that I am a fan of the style as a solo Steve Vai ((Carvin legacy is the brand developed in partnership with Steve Vai)) or Patrick Rondat).
The value for money seems very good. I would not say excellent because you still have to pay the 1300 euro requested for such an object. But I do not regret it. Finish and quality of its make it a gem. It is beautiful throughout the land. Against default by a big, it is very heavy for a combo, especially for his size. But that's not much face to its qualities.
With experience, I think we should try many more configuration to make me change. Carvin shows his great professionalism with this object, and become for me a value. Too bad it's so hard to find in Europe. (I ordered it in Germany).
If you have the opportunity to try, take the time to do so, it's worth the ear!
