I needed a sound card to learn how to use CAM software to make models guitar / vocals, and learn how to use the afternoon with a keypad.
I have a relatively old PC (4 years old), but faithful and efficient ... only equipped with USB ports (which I have no idea if they are USB 1 or 2)
There are relatively few offers USB, it is not expensive and very few entries, three times in prices and inputs.
I was advised the tascam US122L, I was hesitant after reading some mixed reviews on this site, but ultimately I am happy for this choice: for that price, there are not many entries but the sound is very satisfactory, and there's MIDI.
UTILIZATION
Installation is very quick and simple, the true "plug and play", no problem
the manual, provided in many languages, including French, is clear and simple, understandable by beginners (and the machine itself is taken in hand quickly, use is very intuitive)
GETTING STARTED
Drivers immaculate, everything is available on the tascam site, updated often ...
I mainly use adobe audition and live, and I get a latency so low that I do makes absolutely no account
no cracking either, or rather there was at first, but after restarting, everything was automatically configured to make them disappear: the relief!
when you do not know what to adjust, a machine that is very valuable self rule
in any case the use is simple and the result for my needs (guitar / voice taken concurrent) is flawless
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a month and I'm glad: for half of my initial budget, I have a machine that works perfectly. Although it has few entries (one can not simultaneously take two tracks), the price is very satisfying
if I had 500 euros, I would probably invest in a card with more inputs and outputs, but frankly for that price, it allows drivers to start with a stable and very low latency, and that an easy to use, so I advise you!
