The best thing about the Mr. Ray is the sound. Its spot on. This is always the plugin I use when I need a rhodes. I own the real thing (88 key Mark 1) and I am astounded how close it sounds. Whatever those guys are doing at GSi, they know how to do it. All there plugins sound fantastic. There is not much to dislike about the quality ...
What I like most about this unit is the Wurlitzer patches. The Lounge Lizard is my go to plugin for the Whurly. It is very warm and realistic enough for a plugin (totally kicks the but of both Logic and Ableton's built in Whurly sounds). I also enjoy the "Classic Tracks" presets. I am a fan of Jamiroquai and it was cool (and audibly pleasing...
I've been using Digidesign Velvet for a few months and it has become one of my new favorite electronic piano virtual instruments. It has a very sweet sound and sounds very similar to the real thing. I like the fact that you get so many different parameters to work with as it really extends the palette of sounds that this software has to offer....
Overall, the MOTU Electric Keys virtual instrument is a great sounding piece of gear. It does an awesome emulation of the electric piano and can get sounds similar to a Fender Rhodes or a Wurlizter Electric Piano, all in the convienience of a virtual instrument. Since I use this in Digital Performer, I find that it always runs very well withou...
I've been using the Emagic EVP73 for about five years and I have found it to be a really realistic virtual electric piano with a variety of vintage electric pianos sounds. You can get a classic Rhodes or Wurlitzer sound, or set your own with a variety of parameters for tone and tremolo. It also has useful presets and the price is pretty reasona...
The Elektrik Piano virtual instrument is somewhat new to me, but in the time I have had it I have been very satisfied. The overall sound quality is quite authentic and there are a variety of presets for all different electric piano sounds - Rhodes, Wurli, bells, etc. While I'd rather have a Wurlitzer 200A, this provides a relatively cheap option...
I would give this a 10 if the above was resolved somehow. Originally posted on FutureProducers.com Posted by: DefOne4Lyfe ( 4-, 2006)
I have been using this for a few months now - just recently got it. I really love the sound of it - it's like having a Rhodes piano in your computer! Obviously it doesn't sound exactly like the real thing, but this is by far the best approximation I have heard in a digital plug-in. In addition, this plug offers far more flexibility than a rea...
1 month ago I use every day. I tried a lot of competitors and I am amazed by the realism of the plugin. The point of view of the publisher did not provide (yet) a clean and sterile Rhodes but rather the reverse, with the sound of mechanical pedal Up / Down, the sound of hammers can be adjusted at will. We can sculpt the sound of clean to dirty, ...
