ENGL E412SS Standard Slanted 4x12 Cabinet

I got this cab when I bought my 1st high end amp, an Engl Savage120. I compared this one with the Vintage cab (with V30s) and liked the standard cab better at the time. It was a great match with the Savage120 and I used it for many years.

The Standard cab is loaded with Celestion V60 speakers and although they are cheaper speakers, I still think they sound good. The overall tone of the cab is pretty smooth sounding. It has a good low end and pleasant highs. I did a lot of gigs with mine and it always sounded great. It's also pretty easy to mic up. It was a great mix with the Savage 120 as the amp is a bit bright sounding and the Celestion V60s smoothed things out a bit.

The build of the cab is good although it is made of particle board, I never had a problem with mine. At a certain point, cobblestones ruined the wheels and I replaced them with genuine blue wheels. Other than that, I never had complaints. It’s a heavy cab so your arm muscles will get a good workout when you are moving this around.

After many years, my taste in tone changed and I looked for something else and in the end bought the vintage cab and sold this one to a friend who's still using it years and years later. As always, try the cab with your own amp, or one similar to yours, because not every cab works well with every amp and your playing style also has an impact. For example, I don’t like standard Marshall cabs with G12-75s but plenty of people do. I vastly prefer the Engl Standard cab and would recommend this if you need a cheap, good sounding cab.

I use c cab in ENGL 4 * 12 months since QLQ. This is the pan cut version, equipped with Celestion Vintage 60 HP. HP are good, rather typical metal as well dug in the medium. These are the HP ELRS "general" celestion home and are presented as HP cut for jazz (it's crazy the number of gear designed for jazz to be used primarily in metal and others: for example, that combo Roland JC 120, or the scratching EMG 60 pickups or Seymour SH2.

It is a very well made cabinet, the exellent lutterie is much better than the marshall (that have tried aupparavant g) and Qul look! (The REAL super grid and the chrome logo, not a kind of tissue that is flip to tear each transmission, for the grid should be at least a chainsaw! issue against the other QLQ transport planning sessions of muscle because this is the stuff the 50kg, but it's not an across the sea to drink j 'comes very well to the load alone.

However, everything goes smoothly (from clean to heavy distos through the blues) anyway because I play everything and I would not stop at one style (far) g and was pleasantly surprised, even if its domain of choice is the big sound (the palm muted emerged easily, it's my QLQ little confused at first because I used to support much like a bear to make them stand out, then it goes without forcing). But I think the box is also ENGL bcp, it's very good violin. The sound has a sacred diffusion (equal power even faster than the other covers I scratch my group also in 4 * 12). I think the cab with vintage 30 is better but that's normal it is much more expensive. In fact I plan to replace the HP with V30 and G12H30 config for original and perhaps more powerful and smooth at a time (if possible). In fact I eventually upgrade my config and buy a Powerball, I want to give him what he is best: it's worth it (lol)

I put 9 because I think the quality / good price: it leaves the possibility of a (large) good quality sound for the price (or cheaper) than a standart marshall cab. Ares I think the version V30 or other marks (Soldano, VHT, Mesa) are better but at the same tps I have not the means to compare.

Trs good speaker at the sound quality: very low but I do not know if it comes from the head or the cabinet, but when I put a lot of medium on the head (when d 14h password 15h) and as one leaves a big palm mute it tends to drool a lot. Namely, the head is a Framus dragon so it's not the stuff for kkette either: so bizare.

Big problem also at the gate. With my group we are currently in the studio and the same APRS afternoon at the sound of my guitar when the microphones up and mount the volume I rage sound grsille on the recording!! But what it can come from?? APRS questioning micro hardware and voila, this was infact the iron gate at the front that vibrated every time I used a palm mute a lot of bass. RABIES we had to reduce the bass and volume to avoid the problem.
They would put in thinking that ingnieurs engl iron railings and it vibrates in the studio is super boring!!
So here is a gear if it has absolutely avoid to the studio because of this damn screen: although there tjr using the dvisser but good as buying another cabinet.
