« Yeah ... when it works ... »
Published on 11/01/14 at 10:18This is the basic power supply of 500 mA proposed by Boss.
I have not paid mine: it was offered with the RC-3 Loop Station when I bought it (on the net, it is currently a small thirty euros).
So now, for the price, you should know that you can get a power supply unit with 5 different isolated outputs (+ all the cables that go) opting for the Powerplant Junior Harley Benton.
Because with the Boss model, there are some benefits but also a lot of disadvantages:
+ Small power supply that helps out not too expensive for a pedal or a mini pedalboard
Boss + quality (made in China) properly made, no buzz report
- It is necessary to use a wreath if you want to power more than a foot (risk of interference as always with the power chain)
- The cable has a kind of second housing containing two coils which makes it a little awkward to wrap and store
- The transformer part that plugs into the wall is not removable (plug too: she is cast), hello whether to repair ...
- ... And of course, sooner or later, false contact occurs and the power supply does not work anymore!
This is what just happened to me, so in the end it is the kind of stuff that can help, but which we can not really count on lasting!
