I came across this guitar in a music store boyfriend. It offers several models of Greg Bennett, instruments manufactured by Samick plants. I noticed this lovely Korean amidst the electro-acoustic, and am somewhat fallen from above when I saw the price (519 €) with hard case included ...

this is what it offers:

_Table massive Sitka Spruce
_éclisse and solid rosewood background (on the model I tried, apparently it's mahogany on the model of the picture): a big +! it's very rare on a guitar of this price range ...
golden _mécaniques Grover ™ (nothing)
Mahogany _Manche
_touche Rosewood
_repères of cross button
_préampli Fishman Clearwave 50 EQ with integrated tuner
_Cutaway Dreadnought
_binding table contour ababone (real, not Pearloid ...)
_Binding Upper and lower body, flamed maple binding abalone + ...

The finish is honorable for the price, it is a beautiful guitar. Price / bluffing, in addition to once you are provided a Hard box and not a gigbag ...

USE

So it is a dreadnought electro-acoustic. The weight is reasonable, but it weighs relatively heavy compared to some Takamine equivalent for example.

The handle is nice, not too big, it is possible to play a bit of everything without difficulty. Arpeggios pass without problem, the action is good, the guitar is setup and nothing anywhere frieze.
Access to acute is facilitated by the cutaway, but remains relatively small due to a fairly substantial neck heel; difficult to leave easily beyond the 15th fret on the first 3 strings; that said, it is not beyond the defects inherent in any dreadnought cutaway with simple ...
Overall, it's still a very nice guitar playing.

SOUNDS

Acoustic: this guitar bite of the potato. the gypsy rhythm going well, the momentum is good. The strings (d'addario) did not seem to me extraordinary, to do with another reference, it should be better. Arpeggios going well, the sound is clear, focused medium. What I regret, as is often the guitars "middle" range, it is the lack of warm bass. But this is not unique to this model ...
The advantage of violin composed exclusively of precious wood and solid wood pieces is to foreshadow a good aging of the instrument (hoping of course that these massive parts do not deform ...) incidentally, spruce, less flattering to the ear at a young age, usually take more body as cedar older, more generous in severe at first. This is not necessarily an exact science, of course, if only it were possible to "age" the sound during a test (it is done with the wine so ...)
Once connected, the preamp is very encouraging and responsive. The 4-band equalizer is effective, but I have tested this on an acoustic guitar amp Behringer Electro far from convincing ... We feel good potential of the guitar but hard to get a clear idea with the playback quality questionable ... Listed tuner, it did not recognize the low E string (!?!), otherwise it is pretty accurate.

Compared with a series Takamine 440 I tried there is little, the sound seemed less aggressive, a little rounder in low-medium (acoustic).
I lay still 8 for quality, because I think that the amp was far from the best test element that I have had.

NOTICE GLOBAL

I am still all excited by the beautiful ... a persuasive aesthetics (I like the abalone binding, rosewood sides and bottom, the shape of the head, Greg Bennett classy signature, but a lot less like the big " S "...), impeccable violin for the price, clean finish, and the sound ...
It would definitely pay double for the equivalent in terms of violin Takamine and others. Next, you have to think anyway, time or much buy a brand rather than a real good instrument Greg Bennett may be difficult to sell on the second hand market. At the same time, it is best to wait a few years to find out what does the RWSA ...
