UTILIZATION
This guitar is so fun to play! I can't believe how inexpensive it is - when I first picked it up, it played like a high-end electric! The notes just jumped off the neck with ease - effortlessly. The build quality on this is pretty nice at this price point, and just strumming a single chord on this baby was all it took to give an accurate idea just how good that quality is. As I kept playing, my initial impressions were confirmed - this is a real winner in terms of features, playability, and stylishness.
SOUNDS
The AC10E has a nice, shimmering tone unplugged. The high-end is clear, with a midrange scoop, and a present but not boosted bass. Strumming the guitar hard, the top compresses the tone with a sweet quality, almost like a nice ribbon microphone. However, this guitar isn't recommended for singer/songwriters that have an especially boisterous singing voice - the guitar has some projection, but it doesn't get too terribly loud.
Plugged in, the guitar was so surprising - the pickup sounded very life-like, with an extra brilliance that the unplugged sound didn't portray. Also, the midrange was more noticeable, letting the guitar breathe more.
OVERALL OPINION
Overall, this is quite a nice choice for an acoustic electric on a budget. The playability is second to none at this price range, the tone is quite nice unplugged and plugged in, and the looks are pretty distinctive. I'd recommend checking one out even just as a knock-around guitar for players that have a large collection!
