UTILIZATION

The handle is comfortable, the handling is easy. The frets are very well adjusted and good quality. The case is quite intimate and friendly heavy. Access to acute course is not easy as there is no bevel on this model. The bridge has no ankles, no holes in the table, mounting / dismounting of the strings is simplified and it is pleasing to the aesthetic level (no plastic pegs and no holes in the table). The tuners are Gotoh and take very precise tuning, there is a range above the usual Grover already not bad. No pickguard or inlays / benchmarks on the key, sobriety is essential for this model.

SOUNDS

Is a guitar that sounds warm, soft and precise (the combination of solid mahogany & cedar is a lot). The projection is very good. The format and solid wood dreadnought gives remarkable power and enjoy a well balanced report low / mid / treble, with powerful bass prodondes / present. The mids are present and the highs are smooth and precise (less bright than the spruce). Sound does not degrade in the same amount of playing beyond the 12th fret. This is a guitar that will delight fans of love ballads that sounds warm and pleasant, with blues / rock is very good even with very low / medium hot.

OVERALL OPINION

Is a very good guitar value for money. A pure folk easy to play, his warm, rich bass and strong enough. Takamine difficult to compare a midrange with Gibson or Martin or Taylor and other American brands of guitar making, but this Japanese-made model is comparable to guitars that cost 2 to 3x more expensive in these famous American brands. Takamine is known for his electro-acoustic guitars (Japan Electronics and forcing ..) but the guitars "dry" are not to be outdone when it comes to solid wood and models made in japan. Other brands such as Tanglewood (Sundance and Heritage series) or Furch (Czech brand) offer nice labels also for solid wood guitars with quality workmanship outstanding. If your budget is less than 500 € and want to correct a guitar rather bet on domestic brands (Art & Lutherie, Simon & Patrick, Norman or seagull) that are unbeatable in this price range. Avoid Ibanez (many manufacturing problems with dams and interior finishes neglected). If your budget is less than 300 € Cort or Tanglewood bet on who the best value for money with almost flawless finish and its "correct" for low-end guitars. Excellent
