The handle is bigger than a gibson Les Paul, it is varnished and very comfortable. it glides very well but I'm not sure it is suitable for solos but the original setting is something to be because the action is very high.

SOUNDS

It is fitted with D'Addario EXP strings 12-53 (G string spun) and the strings are perfect for this guitar.

Sound
It is powerful, rich and out perpendicularly from the guitar, so whoever will listen hears better than playing. The sound is "rich" (it's hard to describe) the bass is a bit off but widely heard.

I tried a dozen guitars (ibanez, yamaha, ovation) in this price range and taka was better (to my taste, tested in a soundproof room 2m ²).

The pre-amp is a TK40. It includes a volume control, 3-band equalization (low, medium and high), EQ bypass, a Notch Filter (notch filter band), a tuner and a mid contour switch. The amp turns on when you insert a standard cable jack (mono 6.35) into the input jack of the guitar.
The EQ bypass is useful if you want to control your sound from a mixing console, or via effects modules. Notch Filter can, in turn, eliminate feedback problems on certain frequencies. Control "Mid Contour" is on the medium frequency (400Hz).

OVERALL OPINION

For me it is very good this guitar a pleasure to play on. this is probably not the best but for the price, I have nothing to complain about.

Korean guitar manufacturing electro-acoustic Jumbo shape (different from the common form called Dreadnought).
For specialists, the table is spruce, back and maple neck (flamed beautiful!). The frets are rosewood. The markings on the handle are original: they are rectangles pearl-encrusted triangle darker (abalone) ... I love.
As the table (spruce) is not the same wood as the back and sides (maple) of the resonance, expect a different color between the front and rear (mostly used): a little clearer before, a little yellow background).

TK40T preamp is placed on the sounding above the handle, with the following settings: volume, 3-band equalizer (bass, mid, treble) and a setting of "notch". In addition, it includes a tuner very useful and practical.

This guitar is beautiful and has really caught the eye with all its rounded shape and pickgard Gibson type.

UTILIZATION

I had to buy a crate carrying case (model and brand SKB20), because the EG523SC is sent to one carton!
Be careful if you purchase by mail: make sure that the guitar will be well packed. Wink at Thomann sent me a package in the beautiful protected.

Moving on is pretty easy to handle an acoustic guitar, the neck is thin and comfortable, easy access to the treble cutaway (the body is dug in the treble).

The EG523SC jumbo is a guitar, so with a resonance that can be imposing some or hinder certain. Jumbo shape suits me because I'm tall so the cash rather thick does not bother me.

I once played in concert TK40T preamp is excellent in this configuration.

Pure acoustic (without preamp), the guitar has a good sound projection. I rather regret the lack of roundness of mediums, I expected to sound a little less "narrow" and a little more wooded.

Natural Finish 'Jumbo' 6-string acoustic-electric guitar. It has a beautiful flamed maple siding and back with a maple neck. In all honesty, it is an absolutely beautiful guitar. I starting playing guitar when I was 15 and since then have been in one band where we played mostly covers of alternative songs. I currently and will hopefully be in the future, leading worship in a church. I love the old acoustic fold as well as the modern and some nice soft rock is always a plus in my mind.

I purchased this guitar off of American Musical Supply. They had a great sale going on and I ended up getting the guitar for $449, which is about $250 less than anywhere else.

Wonderful tone, beautiful look, amazing electronics. When plugged in, this baby will blow you away. Clean, crisp...just plain gorgeous.

It needs to be professionally set up when out of the box. The action is a bit high.

Solid and wonderfully made. Excellent all around quality.

This guitar is spectacular. If you are looking for a guitar in its price range, I really feel you cannot beat it. I've played for awhile and have tried many guitars and I honestly feel this ranks up there with some of the more expensive guitars.

I tried 5 of them and although I loved the sound and playability, there were defects in every one and I did not buy one.

It produces nice high overtones and has a pretty good bass range as well. It has great action. Very playable

I really wanted to buy one of these. The first one I looked at had string buzzes beyond the 12th fret. So did the second, third, fourth and fifth one I looked at!

I did not find a single one of these guitars without a major factory defect. One salesman tried to tell me that the string buzzing was normal. It is not! I could not believe such poor quality in a new instrument.

Looks great, plays great, but everyone I tried has major string buzz past the 12th fret. And, what's worse, this lack of quality is consistent--its not just one or two bad apples. The whole barrel is bad.

An uncle of mine sold me this guitar for $400, he bought it for about $600 dollars from a local music store (in Hawai'i) called Good Guys Music and Sound.

I love the flamed maple back and sides, the abalone and MOP inlays, the abalone rosette, the built in chromatic tuner, solid spruce top, the jumbo body with the nice tone, the pick guard is positioned that it will protect the guitar from my strumming (I dont have to worry about scratching the guitar), hardwoon maple neck, rosewood finger board, I can strum this guitar loudly and it will not give off a dull noise, it has a nice bright sound bass and treble are balanced (no lound booming sound ), strings are easy to install (there are no pegs), sounds good acoustically and plugged in.

Action is a little high, but action is adjustable. There is a slight buzz that I believe is coming from the electronics.

I am one of two guitarist that currently play music at the 5:00pm mass for my church. This guitar gets the job done, when I am picking I use a Boss Super Corus pedal, when strumming, there is no need for any enhancing equipment. In my household there are six guitars a Fender 3/4 classical, Fender Standard Stratocaster (Made in Mexico), Takamine EG124C Classical, Seagull S6 Cedar, Cort Earth 70/12 (12 str.). For acoustic sound its a hard decision between the Seagull S6 Cedar and Takamine EG523SC, but I would say the Seagull sounds better just a teeeny bit. However, the my Takamine EG523SC is much newer than my Seagull. I do not know how old my Seagull S6 Cedar is, it was purchased as a used guitar. The Takamine has a tighter, brighter sound while the Seagull has a mellower, softer tone. It really depends on what kind of mood my ears are in to really decide on the better sound.

As a guitarist I have been playing for about five years, I started when I was in the seventh grade. I play classical style, in church i play rhythm and I pick/pluck sometimes, and I like to strum and sing.

I bought a few weeks ago still new to 570 euros ... I am very happy with my investment, I tried many guitars before falling in love as much as the aesthetics of this beautiful sound scratches ... I actually hester when buying this guitar between Cedar and art and violin, I decided for this one because the sound more articulate on my Takamine, the oscillator is also more efficient (more settings and a built-in tuner what more ...)

But most important: This guitar is sold with super high strings to the handle. We must therefore remove the string and remove all the blocks under the horse. The handle is really excellent for me. The pan shot me change my life too APRS dreadnought before. She falls hair cell involved sitting or standing even if it is big enough (like any jumbo what!). I bought it there a little over a year APRS cum long enough to have stores in my region, and qute Navarre Grail: I do not know what to blame, except that it is not a Gib '(but hey, it's four times the price too!). The pramp is gnial (notch + eq + phase + ... etc!) - The finishes are great classes and really, the sound is both pure and trs rich, jouabilit excellent.
