Takamine EG560C
Published on 07/30/04 at 15:00I bought this guitar new from PJ's World Famous Guitar Shop in Portsmouth for £295.00.
I was looking for an upgrade from my Fender electro acoustic and wanted to spend no more than £300.00. I liked this guitar as soon as I played it, the slim body shape makes it easy to handle and the sound is ace!. I have 3 other acoustics but this is my guitar of choice for gigging. It sounds great when plugged in to an amplifier or played acoustically.
Not a thing I dont like really. My Sister loved it too and she now has one and then bought another for her son. They all sound consistantly great

For £300.00 it is a lot of guitar, well made with a good set of electrics in the TK4N preamp. I think I would have to aquire a Martin or a Taylor before it is not my best choice of guitar in my collection.

Published on 03/13/04 at 15:00I picked up a guitar at camp and fell in love with it. as soon as i got home, i looked online for possible acoustics. my friend told me to get an acoustic-electric, so i would be able to play in my church band eventually, so i looked. i found a couple things, but i liked this one the best, after trying it in a local guitar store. i got it for $420, which is actually a good price for an acoustic-electric.
it's absolutely beautiful, as well as comfortably small. im not petite, but i am a teenage girl, so it was the best match. i love the tone, and it gets much richer over time. the strings are pretty good, especially to start out, because they help build up strength.
absolutely nothing!...…

absolutely nothing! its probably the best find for the money!
it's built very well, as far as i can tell. like i said, this is my first guitar, so i dont know much. all i know is it is small, and comfortable.
Hmmm... bottom line is, it's an absolutely amazing guitar. i love the way it feels, plays, and looks. if you are just starting out, or are collecting, it's the perfect one for you!

This Takamine is a mini-jumbo acoustic-electric. Regarding the preamp, you have a volume control, a 3-band equalizer and a tuner.
UTILIZATION
The guitar is small (mini-jumbo) and light, the neck is very nice. The strings are a bit high, which requires you to play with precision (not very practical for beginners, but a real treat for experienced players!). Good access to the upper frets, you can reach the very last ones without any problems.
SOUNDS
Arpeggios sound wonderful with this Takamine. Sound is very well balanced, highs are sparkling and, despite its size, low notes are also reproduced fine. It is just as good to play rhythm guitar, however, it doesn't have the bold sound of a...…

SOUNDS
Arpeggios sound wonderful with this Takamine. Sound is very well balanced, highs are sparkling and, despite its size, low notes are also reproduced fine. It is just as good to play rhythm guitar, however, it doesn't have the bold sound of a big dreadnought or a super-jumbo.
Once plugged in, sound takes its full dimension. The equalizer is very effective and, increasing the lows a bit, you have the impression of having in your hands a huge guitar, given the fullness and warmth of the sound. The signal is clean, without any overemphasized buzz or noises.
OVERALL OPINION
I have been playing this guitar for over five years. It's my favorite guitar, it's always by my side, just in case. The fact that the strings are slightly higher than on most other guitar makes practicing with this EG560C formidable, because I know that if I can manage with this guitar I will almost automatically be able to do it on any other guitar.
I bought this guitar for about 600 euros. It's an excellent value for money given its performance. I would buy it again without hesitation.
