Having my house, only way to broadcast sound, my PC, I wanted to buy a pair of powered speakers, since I already had a sound card of a certain quality (ESI Quatafire 610). I add that my use is however not oriented monitoring, or else in a very succinct. These speakers are multi-functional for me, both for listening to music, as to amplify a midi keyboard from time to time, and work on sound, once in a while too. I am not a professional sound. However, as professor of music, music is my field of work. These speakers are installed on my desk, "to tear" and not in an area suitable. The features that have motivated my choice are mainly the size (5 inches), the events at the front and the price.

SOUNDS

The sound reproduction, I am quite satisfied. Especially when you just a little rotten multimedia speakers. We are rediscovering their CD while enjoying the work of technicians and sound engineers who have achieved. In terms of accuracy, the stereo and dynamics, it is perfect for me, given my requirements for an amateur. Anyway, in this price range, it is useless to hope to find the pearl. I just have problems with resonances of their bad positioning and the room not suitable, but I accommodates. The speakers are not to blame. Since I have, I took great pleasure in listening to music of all styles. Everything is set, clear, never aggressive (in any case never listen very hard ...).

OVERALL OPINION

I use them for two months now. No worries to report. Before acquiring them, I first listen to other models in the same range, including Yamaha HS50 (good but not enough bass) and Prodipe Pro5 (its too "card" for my taste). The Fostex seemed so achieve the best balance for my needs. I do not know what would think "someone who knows", but I would do this election if necessary.
