What characteristics have motivated your choice?

Technology used (amp powerful speaker dual ferrite cast aluminum bowl, silk dome tweeter 1 "MDF cabinet and therefore weight). More importantly listening in store!

For what purpose?

Home studio recording of piano, guitar and singing. Listening to music on my desktop also incidentally

What amp / What configuration?

No amp (speakers). Macbook pro and entry level sound card at the moment (Behringer HENYX Q802USB)

SOUNDS

The frequency curve is sufficiently neutral?

These speakers are very neutral and that's what attracted me. I was there a few years Yamaha HS80 and I did not monitor speakers with stereo sound too typed (the speakers I've tried many were those who offered a warm, sweet stereo typed) .

The stereo image is good?

I find it excellent, the sound stage is set up easily with a good speaker placement. The speakers are then completely forgotten.

The sound is clear and precise across the spectrum?

I did not have much room on my desk so I took small (speaker 5.5 "), the spectrum is logically sound a bit biased on the low frequencies. The rest of the spectrum is very good with well-defined treble and precise medium and neither too forward nor back. The sound is really good. Depending on the style you want you will have to turn to the PX-T6A for response in the low or supplement these with a subwoofer. ago low attention! but I would say 50-60 Hz below the curve should start to drop.

I use them for a month every day.

Did you try many other models before buying it?

At the store there should be twenty Samson Dynaudio model through Yamaha and M-Audio, Genelec not budget but it was out anyway. These speakers are amazing accuracy and neutrality. Speakers price equivalent (M-Audio, or Prodipe Samson) do not sound as neutral. I would have taken the HS80 but I did not have the budget and the promotion of these speakers were impressive - 66% or 89 euros instead of 250 pregnant. At this price I went for it. I personally did not like the speakers tariff equivalent: the Prodipe are too generous low, it is to listen to music or enhance the sound of a digital piano in a pinch but not for the home studio.

What is so special that you like most and least?

+: Neutrality, power, accuracy. More speakers are supplied with anti-vibration mount for limited low frequency transmission at the office: very effective at moderate volume.

-: No dust cover provided, response in the lower spectrum of the same size some speakers offered more ... but the sacrifice of neutrality.

How do you rate the quality / price?

On sale: excellent! The normal rate I would say though that it's very good speakers who did not take the place of the size above.

With experience, you do again this choice?

Still the same, in balance without hesitate for a second! The normal rate I do not know ... I would take more time to listen to equivalent brands (500 euros the pair begins to be beautiful people) but I would not exclude this model as if the brand is not well known they are really good. Short trusts do your ears without looking at the brand! Anyway buy a monitor speaker without listening this is a bit like a lottery game.

I would add one thing to those who know nothing and which begins: For those who do not know the monitor speakers should be ultra precise NEUTRAL, a mix that sounds a studio monitor sound quality neutral and then some the medium listening. So when you listen to the speakers in relation to each other should not seek the enclosure having the most pleasant sound, look the speaker the most accurate, which highlights the shortcomings of your MP3. Listen carefully to the voices, instruments to determine whether the frequency response is flat, so the treble is not too much emphasis or withdrawal. Take the time to listen quietly if the soundstage deploys correctly in front of you, placing the instrument spread between the speakers or make up a large package in the center of the soundstage? For a very accurate picture try a headphone typed monitoring as the HD25 and behind a headphone typed hifi as B & W or focal (avoid the Beat is a shit unnamed giving low in abundance for the happiness of bobo who proudly wear ) ... you understand the difference directly type sound.
