RCF Mytho 8

The RCF Mytho 8 studio monitor is no doubt one of the best studio monitors one can find. All aspects of the product over exceed my expectations for a speaker in this price range. Though the Mytho isn’t cheap it out performs anything in its category. This is not surprising as do most of Rcf’s products. The mytho 8 is a very resolving speaker. It’s described as a sound periscope in Rcf’s words. The Mytho has a flat frequency response, high dynamic range, and low distortion. This is due to many different factors such as its solid aluminum cabinet, high quality class A/B amplifiers with linear power supply, presison ICC Rcf transducer and SEAS high frequency driver and the list goes on. Plus it’s got a high quality DSP on board to help set the speaker to your environment with the least effect from your room surroundings. After a lot of time with the Mytho 8 I have really fallen in love with their sound signature. Even though they are not supposed to be hi-Fi speakers, They have a warm and musical sound similar to what you expect from a well built class A/B amp but they are also very detailed and fast when it comes to low transients and dynamics. They represent perfect stereo images when set up properly and disappear like any good Hi-fi speaker would. They also show the smallest of details hidden in music as one would expect from a studio monitor. The Mytho is a wonderful balance between amazing Hi-fi speaker, and resolving studio monitor. I enjoy it as both. I would recommend it to an advanced recording engineer as well someone who just wants a good speaker and that’s a first for this product category.
