Inexpensive near field powered monitors with crisp sound that will serve well when you begin mixing your sessions. They only come in 1 color (black) but I've seen them custom painted. I know this isn't important but some people like to match the colors of their studio units just for a little extra coordination not to mention visual and audio work very well together.

SOUNDS

The sound that comes from these monitors are full they make great reference monitors I'd watch the bass though. I've worked with these monitors for 3-4 years before I replaced them and I'll say it's very easy to go a little over board with the bass because it sounds so good and rich. Once you have your bass under control which should be easy if you are not a bass heavy producer like myself everything else right into place. You're actually able to trust the mixes mixed with the DS50As. Another great thing about these monitors is no hiss or hum do to the digital connection feature. That feature makes everything CLEAN

OVERALL OPINION

These were my very 1st pair of studio monitors took me weeks to pick the right ones. I think I got lucky because I didn't know much about them (monitors). They have served me well over the years. What I loved most about them was the fact that they were very easy to setup, they sound clean and as I've stated before mixed can be trusted in them. If I mixed a session in these monitors I didn't need to cross reference them on another system what I heard is what I got.

I personally think they should have charged more for these monitors but I'm also glad that they were reasonably priced. If I knew what I knew now about monitors I'd still make the same purchase today that's just how good they are but I would upgrade to the 8 inch coned version simply because it handles bass a little bit better

The Roland DS 50A are a set of professional studio monitors. They are near field monitors, which make them great for mixing. They have a crisp sound quality while still maintaining a full sound all across the frequency spectrum. They are powered monitors, which means you don't need an external amplifier to use them. These are a great set of monitors for the advanced home or professional studio.


SOUNDS

The projected from these monitors are full and rich, and won't color your sound. This means they portray a neutral sound that doesn't favor any frequency range. This is what makes them so great for mixing, as the mixes I get on these monitors usually will transfer to other speakers quite well. For a rather small set of monitors, these deliver a huge sound that covers the full range of frequencies. The dynamics are accurate and it is great to know that I am getting a full, accurate sound while I am mixing these.


OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Roland DS 50A studio monitors for about a year and they have become one of my favorite pairs of studio monitors for not only mixing, but for general listening and tracking as well. I find that I get a true sound from these monitors, without any coloration. This makes me happy when I mix because I know that when I play the mix over my iPod headphones or in my car, that it will sound good there too, which is huge when it comes to studio and mixing monitors. The price isn't aimed for the budget home studio owner, but if you are serious are building a professional studio or an advanced home studio, these are a great candidate for your studio. Compared to some monitors these are a fair price, but still not viable for most home studio owners. All in all, I would recommend these to those interested in high quality studio monitors.

Trs neutral curve frequency drives.

A clear, ultra prcis. A lgre dficience the bottom of the spectrum that can be easily arranged with the volumes of each amplifier (low and high) and spatial placement with a good student.
Dynamic trs good returns.

OVERALL OPINION

I use them for three years without any surprises. Trs are strong, beautiful, efficient trs.
Placement is key to these speakers, because they are poorly positioned or in places with poor acoustic insulation, Stereo image is blurred (but it's a bit like with any other speaker).
The CHARACTERISTICS numriques immediately attracted me. And I do not t due. Gone with the coaxial in mind, the sound is clear, trs, trs trs neutral and dynamic.
I did not shoot back because they are well-50W, even when they are powerful and I trs plenty to make me whistle eardrums. I always leave the volume gnral half and it's hard dj trs.
I work with ProTools on a Digi002 and I return to these coaxial speakers. It is the killing ...
