« very interesting! »
Published on 09/15/11 at 14:58I have not bought these speakers but I could listen to them three times and compare them to others. I seriously think dessu crack in the weeks to come!
Characteristics in case:
• Two-way, active studio reference monitor with ported tuned enclosure
• 5-inch woven carbon fiber woofer for tight and controlled low frequency response
• 1.25-inch silk dome tweeter with neodymium magnets, heat-sink and ferro-fluid cooling for smooth and sweet high frequency response
• Low diffraction waveguide
• Bi-amp power with 50 watts on the LF driver and 20 watts on the HF driver
• Frequency response: 50Hz-30kHz
• Active crossover Utilizing a multi-pole design for linear response from bottom to top
• Four-position high frequency lift control
• 1/4-inch balanced inputs as well as unbalanced RCA inputs
• AV shielded for multimedia applications
• Solid MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) construction for maximum SPL
Usage is start in the home studio mix (as I did before but could not speak of "mix" that I had seen that pc speakers ...) The config 'would give me a line 6 KB37, a micro t bone sc400 samson resolv a5 and a6 or I do not know according to the place that I have.
What motivates me to buy? The reputation of new samson rubicon with it before and today, before the vent, power comfortable ...
SOUNDS
So like I said above, I tested the usb alesis m1 520 (211 euros thomann therefore more expensive than a5): a cata! Pleasing to the ear but in flateuses possible (bass boosted to death, acute imprecise , fuzzy midrange ...). I also tested jbl 2325, very good but more expensive. KRK Rokit G2 ... I talk so all is not boosted, except the bass are more absent than on a5. Yamaha HS50, oulaaa reference as they say! Yes very very neutral but lacks momentum for my taste, unpleasant mix of long I think. Finally, I also made the comparison with the ribbon prodipe 5: if you do not go your way dj! Bass boosted to death and I find less precision. The samson resolv 5 provide excellent dynamic (RATM, ACDC dessu slam!), A precision acute impressive for the price (though certainly unpleasant in the long run, the spell is there for that too), very good medium and low medium and low if not absent in this size! Ok for the work infrabass is dead but there's boxes for that. on the other hand I think for rock, hard, metal, blues, classical, vocal and electro soft (like LMFAO) is quite correct. It took three plays to really appreciate them for listening to prodipe I say the first time "woaaa what a sound! The resolv are very loud in the treble!" (Tape plays but good) is actually the strength of these speakers. 179 euros for the pair of you thoto sound quality, relatively linear, less flattering than the other models in the same price range I've experienced. A6 model may be a good alternative for students with no place like me (18m2) to have better bass without typing in the 30 * 30 of resolv a8. But not found in stores metz anyway.
OVERALL OPINION
I also find that for Chinese manufacturing, the enclosure looks pretty solid and inspires confidence. I always ask sellers if they have feedback forums for malfunctions or problems of any kind. Apparently not! When I see Beringher or ESI with their manufacture foul I say samson defended well. I love the sound and neutricité relative (to my ear) for the price (it is not Adam or Genelec) Ah yes, the lack of an XLR 5-inch ... but hey it does not change much for me.
The value for money seems to me excellent and I will make that choice I think! I update the post after a few months of use.
Musically at all!
