I bought them to make sound and mix in my apartment of 29 m².
SOUNDS
I find these speakers fairly neutral, with good dynamics and very good stereo image.
The entire spectrum is pretty well set, the sound is clear and balanced.
At low I like others, I way to 30/40 cm from the wall (I have no choice anyway), and that makes enough to moi.Mon ear has become accustomed.
What I like is that these speakers do not forgive almost anything, she pushes me to be more and more demanding, as noted by someone in a previous opinion, so much so that if I am satisfied with my overall mixes with, it sounds just about anywhere.
And even sometimes when I'm moderately satisfied with my mixes (I'm still a beginner in this area), well it's still okay on other monitoring systems (multimedia speaker, MP3 player ...).
OVERALL OPINION
These are my first monitor speakers.
I did not have much money about 2 years ago, when I'm paid to, but I made the effort to invest at least 250 euros in the purchase.
At the time, in this niche of price, I had the choice, roughly, between the Yamahas and M Audio Studiophile BX5a ...
He not take me a minute to recognize the indisputable superiority of Yamahas on M audio sound "card" to côté.J 'without any remorse I add the 50 euros to buy the missing HS50M.
Even today, I do not regret.
Since then, other models have emerged in this price range (Prodipe, Alesis ...), I have not tried it, I do not know what they are worth, I do not know if I do it again this choice, but I am so pleased that I did not want to look elsewhere for now.
