« Bon SUB! »
Published on 10/01/11 at 23:58We use a pair of SRM-1801 for about a year. We decided to ettendre down the frequency response of the RCF ART-315 in order to establish a system of small and medium power portable facillement (power from 1200 to 1700W, depending on whether one or two subs with the heads cut encombement) .
Personally, I like the roundness of the bass it delivers. The fact that HP is in direct radiation gives an impact that I have not found a box type "band-pass".
The only complaints I would make is that the volume knob is not resolved at delas of + /-6dB. During our first test benefits the entire system, we used the internal filters in order to connect the head and, despite vain attempts balancing sub / mid-high thanks to the knobs, we never got the sound we wanted. So we invested in a digital processor DBX DriveRack PX-to do everything back to normal and now our little meveille all works! But this criticism is to be taken back because, at the base, the sub is made to work with heads Mackie SRM probably very consistent in this configuration ...
So to summarize, I recommend it for anyone looking to extend their heads down Mackie active but for others, I sincerely believe that a processor upstream will be the only way to do it well and sing to calm low volume ! Otherwise, for about € 1200 a pair, the investment is excellent and, after a good twenty outputs, it shows no signs of wear or fatigue!
