I'm not a pro DJ, but I attended a few nights, so I had the opportunity to touch different gear assemblies current club and mobile DJs: Bric & Broc, dble player Ibiza mix Behringer, Numark player, player Denon, Pioneer player and mix ...
The Plus-Plus is the all in one cheap for the price of a standard DJ player (low end) to thee 2 (no CD, but USB) and the mixer with effects.
It fits in a box with plate, or in a backpack (beware knob) and stroke of 999 pieces, duration not specified
for each USB key, you can lug around the whole world music in the same bag.
Another plus: there are 2 additional inputs on the mixer for standard plates, thus evolving (or just troubleshooting pro mixer ...).
A good point: access to mp3 is almost instantaneous: the key is inserted, it plays.
The general construction is sturdy, the screens are easily visible as buttons, jogs, and knobs are very good navigation, the faders are light but accurate. Cons by the filter knobs and volume seem fragile.
Bad points:
- The screen does not hold if you touch it: / (it can be seen as positive because that side of the screen buttons orange fluorescent green it takes a little eye)
- Preview does not work on external sources.
- It is possible to confuse the source management mp3 point of having to mute the sound: Each deck can read usb 2 sources, but a source usb can be started on his deck. So if I play key A key on deck B and B on A deck, so good. I put the deck on a break, I change the key B, the deck A is the way more and gets into such a state that even rolled onto its side, there are more accesses. So to change the key, do not pass the smell (as everyone knows from Ghostbusters).
For everything else it works really well, no audible breath, with kill filters, effects and correct.
Some regrets (not really bad points, but it's part of the review):
- Taken out by RCA (XLR is still good)
- The look of a little myFirstDjDeck toys'r'us & PlaysCool - then moved to say that to pro is very correct.
- External power
- Mp3's and nothing but the MP3 (not AAC or Ogg)
- The box (flight case) adapted (DJ-Tech i-MIX CASE) is still expensive (88Euros), but everything is inside, keys and headphone (mine anyway), and it solves the problem of look.
- Not a midi controller.
In its category of "DJ Deck Mp3 Autonomous", there is also the Djinn of Audiophony (tested here) and the American Audio Versadeck.
It is the least expensive (by far) and it does the job: so the price / quality ratio is very good.
In this budget, I see no other choice now, so I would.
