This is analog to DV firewire and vice versa. So the 48 khz 16 bit. This is done to connect audio and video public.

no driver to install on mac. It works very well.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a little over a year to monitor the image and sound output editing software (Final Cut Pro, Avid, Protools ...). This is one card recommended for digidesign protools with the video monitor (the CPU and discharged this task).

+: Canopus DV codec, recognized as the best in DV, according to sync sound and image (no shift recording with the internal clock)
-: No ref to sync with another audio interface

I had used almost all of the scope Sony DV and DVCAM (DSR 11, 25, 40, 80 and 1000), scope and DVCPRO and Pinnacle Dazzle firewire enclosures. But since the tests on computer magazines, maps Canopus have the best signal processing.
I also bought a Canopus ADVC 300 before which I was very happy with the quality of the image (maybe even better than the ADVC 110 because of the DSP built into the card), but was equipped with a noisy fan (probably because of the DSP).

Regarding the choice to repeat, I save a little more (I can wait since I already have this video converter) to buy a video interface with a ref, but it's really much more expensive.
