The Mackie 1642-VLZ3 is an analogue mixer, 10 tracks including mono / line XLR / jack with the possibility of inserting effects or equalizer, while symtrique, fitting PG cudgel if it is DTECT. Both tracks are exclusive Reserved dernires a double connector Stereo line in jack. The subgroups are counted four in number.
There is possibility to connect a pair of monitor speakers, two headphone volume adjustable back, plug in a mono main output, an RCA in Stereo, as well as between st ro RCA.
The multi-track recording is possible (8 output connector jack in symtrique, or many group outings through the same connector).
The console provides power fantme course (+ 48 V). It is no team of effects section for reasons of price and usage context, as it is Designed as a mini-studio recording console. So the effects of a fitting maneront Annex.
The equalizer is semi-Settings, Adjustable in three bands (ranging from 30 dB, -15 15): serious, concentrated on 80 Hz, adjustable center mdiums paramtriques ( 100 Hz to 8 KHz), 12 KHz Aiges centers.
A low-cut filter 75 Hz is available via a button.
The gain range is about 60 dB.
UTILIZATION
Use of this mixer is Elementals. Caractrisitques all, though endowed with a technology push are those of a standard console. We found it right away, even if Mackie has always been able to dmarquer by personal menus dtails trs.
Faders glide extremely well. Touch is enjoyable. For ingnieurs sound that is kind of playing Frisbee with their mixer or the pose of ct gazinire when they fry potatoes, is the chssis particulirement easy to clean and hassle free rsiste shock (as described on the packaging: "built like a tank"). The buttons are specially fixs chssis on this, not on the circuit being protected to the console in case of accident.
Its been nitre-segments green, yellow and red is not calibrated to the standard + 4 dBV purpose: when the point "O dB" is reached, the sound is REALLY about to s' crter.
It must be the concept of rglage gain before use on each track, but it finally s'avre trs helpful and conscientious.
The assignment of groups is a breeze.
Beware, the manual is in English only rdig.
SOUNDS
This console is just bluffing. We do not doubt that such a small device can reproduce what he is asked to deal with such clarity. The equalizer is drastically prcis and does not sound dnature even if rglage excessive. The faders are so gentle with the volume that is CRVE eardrums before feeling the pain!
Finally, I put a point on innovative pramplis XDR-2 of this new series VLZ: as so beautifully said a member of the forum Audio Fanzine, "we can not record a fly Flying with VLZ ".
