«  VERY BRITISH! I LOVE IT SO MUCH ... »

Published on 02/08/13 at 06:41
Configuration variable. This console is semi modular.
I have a Fleximix 20 entries, a master module and a module-talkback-effect send test tone.
Semi-parametric eq, a little breath in extreme settings but a fantastic color.
1 shelf Hi 8K or 12K
1 Mid with variable frequency and gain, Q is higher in the high gain values, as in the API.
1 shelf Lo, 60Hz or 150Hz.
Routing + 8 stereo bus.
Insert on each slice.
Selection MIC / LINE every
The connector is also on the slices on top.
I did not like the output module bus, I dabbled with. The patterns are very simple.
Against by the power supply is delicate, I getting a much beefier external weariness by ... 2 repair in 3 months!

UTILIZATION

Archi who knows simple architecture studio consoles.
I've never had a manual, just patterns.
Everything is available directly in front.

SOUNDS

Its fantastic. Very British! A few blows with Eq bottom of acute, but nothing annoying.
Mic preamps unpretentious, but I'm using that line mixer, where it excels for my taste.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had more than a quarter of a century, and it is the only console that I kept throughout the years.
I had an ELS ODYSSEY, a large TASCAM, a SSL4000E / G, and now a Yamaha DM2000 with a SoundGrid WAVES graft insert between the 48 output channels and 48 inputs NUENDO the DM2000. I have plugs for SSL, API, Neve in the WAVES and some of their plugs provided with the system.
Yet
FLEXIMIX the throne always in my studio next to the DM2000, with which it is interconnected. Sometimes I used as a mixer for drums with a DL241 DRAWMER on the master. With the old drum, it is a pure joy! Otherwise it is super plugin on drum tracks or synthesizers.
I love it, and do not sell for anything in the world despite its (small) defects.
