« excellent compromise »

No rack but relatively compact compared to the majority of cattle in its class.

modular, if you have a few parts you can easily adapt to the situation at hand, as you rather need additional channels or groups. mine is 14/4/2 configuration with a master module, and to a stereo compressor.

Standard connectivity Jack / XLR

by:

mic in (XLR)
line in (jack)
Direct output (jack)
channel send (jack)
channel return (jack)

Note that the send / return (insert anything) is done by using two mono jacks and not a single stereo.

per group (while jack connector)

- Having external meter
- Exit sub group
- In line
- Pan in external
- Output PREFADER
- Entry PREFADER (insert wholesale)

the master

- Output XLR and jack
- Insert (always in and separated out)
- In line

Auxiliary: there are 4 accessible from every, this is a normal way, a group or even the master

the equas: slices on mic / line only. acute low switch with respectively 12/8 and 150/60

NOTE

gain only applies to the mic inputs. For line level, only the fader is active

mute on each channel, but not solo.

most consoles (including mine) are modified with external power supply (...) and phantom power.

THE compressor is either dual mono or stereo, with input gain and output ration, attack and release.

9/10 only because of the gain on the mic inputs. Otherwise, I knew to buy.

UTILIZATION

General configuration extremely simple. I have not had masses of consoles before and everything is clear. Few functions but essential. Unable to disperse, and I consider this as a strong point ... as long as there is effective!

10/10. NO frills.

SOUNDS

The console is not transparent but with very nice metal knobs lacquer red, green, black ... I think she has a very beautiful face, which does not hurt.

I have not had the opportunity to test the preamps, I work mostly with line level (synths, drum machines), but I am told that the design of the preamp is rather very basic. Do not care. Not purchased for that.

in sound card and mix before, I have a result that exceeds my expectations. Without going through four paths, it sounds strong and dense. Maybe not a lot of depth, but the grain a lot of presence. It is more uppercut mode dancer, having said that, it is tamed, and these fabulous equas to boost any part of the spectrum can also carve a sound no less musically.

I made mixes 20 tracks with kicks, big bass analog, it holds up. that the same holds good.

on the equation, well I do not have a great experience but I think we immediately feel that is a console designed for music, especially amplified music. That is far from what I imagine an equa broadcast console. The equa the FLEXIMIX is violent, brief but extremely musical. It is doubtful due to the limited settings doubts swept from the first seconds of use: it is devilishly simple and effective.

I think the way the compressor very good quality also, in the same spirit as the equation: very efficient and music.

10/10. I will not reproach him for his preamps, bought knowingly.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 months

I had before a Studiomaster P7 (some claim that equa have a kinship with trident ... I thought too .. until I have FLEXIMIX), a Soundcraft spirit. And A & H WZ3 14, 4, 2 for live

That is more bulky tables, with more features (P7 is inline, dual parametric, 6 to, mute automation, etc..) But never a single second, these features have I missed with FLEXIMIX.

Auxiliary not enough on the table? I compensated with more outputs on my sound card, I send my assistants directly from it.

not inline? a well thought out and it's the same patch.

there are always solutions.

What I like most is that I got in line to win in ease of use. The result is much better than the P7, with fewer features and greater ease of use. I find it essential.

its modest size, the equation, the look, the performance mix is largely up to its reputation. I have not found a model more suited to my type of use (mixing synths / BAR home studio)

what I like least: Vintage console = regular maintenance. Having said that compared to a lot of ships found in the same price with way more stuff supposed to be necessary, the maintenance easy FLEXIMIX. This is not a gas plant (that I almost bought a big amek)

Regarding the value, say it is the price of the brand (a little), but unlike other models, there is actually something behind, and you can not be disappointed as long as you know what you buy. A bit like a Minimoog: you certainly pay a little name, but it is just one of the models of the brand that made the legend of the name. In my particular case, I got a little done to, buying a console supposedly flawless, but ultimately receiving a power supply undersized and not a knob that does not spit. Besides the seller sell another AF right now, and it was not very cool, so ... beware. I made the mistake not to try and buy it at a distance, this kind of stuff is bullshit. well done to my mouth.

I would do the choice eyes closed, but going to test the proper operation of the beast before!

I put a good 10/10!
