Hello everyone, I was given there for a few years akai x 201d, which I greatly served, and I still have by the way! Its main features are: Flexible operation (especially "hot"), fast rewinds (much better than a single motor), flexible enough so safe for the band brakes, and a good response to 19cm / s (at this speed also cross field represents no interest it is good to know!)? Two criticisms however: VU quite difficult to control (inertia) meter, and other most common issue: The web guide in reverse playback, and offset heads for reading back often deceiving. Robust and very well finished, this is a device that not aged too badly, and remains a beautiful object (one of the most successful in AKAI aesthetically). Note that the building is from 1972 and that it was a nearly 2,000 francs at the time !!!
As j 'owns 14 it is likely that I still give my opinion on other models that I know well !!! Cheers Matthew
