Akai VX 90 is a rack-synth that offers 100 tones and effects modules and types, VCO, VCF, LFO, envelope generators. But also a Chorus in two positions, one Partomento, and a transposer.
UTILIZATION
Operation is very simple, however the programming is a real pleasure. With minimal experience in the research analogue sound, I arrive perfectly satisfy my wildest desires, ie to achieve the sounds in my head, if they are not, of course too complex (too often my case).
SOUNDS
Bought used, I have unfortunately never been able to hear sounds because the factory programs were completely reworked by its former owner. I use it mainly for sound and extra reinforcements, and arrived to find some sounds very typical Minimoog and Arp. The carpet of strings, organ and other agreements layers of Prophet's pretty good. And some special effects such as noise, the wind .. are quite successful as well. I also like the effects of a chorus that gives additional breadth to sounds and unfortunately a little breath.
OVERALL OPINION
I use that for 2 years and other auxiliary instruments, of course it can not replace the magic of a Prophet 5 or a Moog, and although it is a little older I'm pretty satisfied for the use I make, and it is the most important thing.
