More and more aspiring musicians opt for the "PC ALL", and in the end we are left with a mix without wealth, while flat, everything is mixed?
WHAT A PITY
The solution is to diversify the sound sources, and there, the A100 is a must:
modular is customize the mix.
you can find anything, at any price, and it is endless.
- Modules that generate sounds
- Functions
- Filters and effects
- And I hope one day preamp, compressor and other tools to make it a true all in one
UTILIZATION
There are quantities of the various modules and can therefore be used as filters or modules sound processing
for example, to treat its BD + CH + OH so that my sound card, I send everything to the subgroup 3, which is in my A100, in this case the A189 change Bit-1> A121 VCF-2> A131 A140 VCA controlled by an ADSR envelope. It is the trick to imitate a noise gate
With a modular, we understand what we do, what we control, and soon we know make a sound, just with tools (envelope, LFO and so on)
best is to use modules that control VC, eg VCLFO A147 rather than A145 LFO able to control the LFO is terrible.
I also recommend a slightly evolved sequencer.
S / H are also important: it can add a random grain in a very rigid and repetitive world.
Associated with / a MAC16 3 and a drum machine, the config is just perfect to start.
SOUNDS
As mentioned above, module manufacturers are becoming more numerous, and they are having a field day.
The only problem is funding, as "good" modules cost a minimum of 300 €. :-(
and DIY is not for everyone ....
The Hertz Donut is terrible. Not really analog, but perfect for creating moods, or sequences barred.
MFB seq 2 is the sequencer of the TR808: a killer too, although a bit small.
standard oscillator VCO A110 have a sacred fishing. the bass is huge.
Pittsburgh oscillators are of incredible beauty.
What is top is that you can mix the VCO, VCF several brands and create configs very personal.

I repeat once again, a modular synth is to have.
Boxes / low cost power supply used to upgrade the machine progressively.
Birthday gifts, christmas turn into little boxes in Eurorack Format: yay
