« Sequencer is not my favorite »
Published on 03/03/13 at 13:29Mutable Instruments Anushri is a different type of synth. It is a monosynth that is all analog and it also has a simple sequencer and 8 bit drum machine. I absolutely love the drum machine because it sounds so much different than anything that I have ever used before. The sequencer on the other hand is not bad but I will leave the sequencing to my DAW because I feel that it is very awkward trying to sequence on this unit. If you are a knob tweaker you will definitely love the Anlushir synth because there are a lot of knobs to tweak in order to achieve the sound you are trying to get. If you have a general understanding of working with sound and synth creation then this synth will feel right at home for you.
UTILIZATION
There really is no set up involved in setting up the Anushri, it is pretty simple if you know how to create synths and work with filters. If you are new to sound design I do not recommend purchasing the Anushri because you will need to take the time to learn everything from the ground up.
SOUNDS
It does come with a manual that will explain how to work with the sequencer and the drum machine and all of the general info. But it will not show you how to work with sound design. The drum machine that is built into it is my favorite part about it though because it has a very gritty sound. You can also create fills very easily with a knob. Working with this synth/drum machine you will have everything you need in the analog world to create gritty drums and rich synths.
OVERALL OPINION
The price is also very affordable and the support that Mutable Instruments provides is also very good. I have been using it for about 6 months and everything is built to last a long time and all 20 knobs are well made.
