    Acoustic Model 220Published on 02/24/05 at 06:35
(This content has been automatically translated from French)
Amp transistors end of 70 years beginning 80
    200W
    1 volume, bass - med - high 5-band graphic EQ +
    A bright (blah, for what?)
    A boost (why cut it?)
    1 loop insert effect
    2 HP 8 Ohms
    An opportunity to boost footswitch
and that's it for the head

The Model 402 cabinet: it is two 38 inch Eminence and presto!

    UTILIZATION

I call that an amp "plug 'n play"
One branch, it does everything at noon (except volume) and we play: The sound is there
The settings are off, the chart is sufficient. . . only drawback: it's heavy like a tube amp!

    SOUNDS

I think we can do anything with it, I use to play blues-rock with a fretless bass (yes) and I love the sound.

    SOUNDS

I think we can do anything with it, I use to play blues-rock with a fretless bass (yes) and I love the sound.
Deep bass that will tie the guts, the precise and captivating mediums (fretless) and clear highs but not too necessary. . .
If you want to play with a pick to Chris Squire, it also works. . .
In short, powerful, versatile, precise. . . ah yes, the default. . . repeating, forced to put the volume to 1 (for others).

    OVERALL OPINION

I'm afraid of not being truly objective, not the modern pro gear after all, but I have used it for 4 years and I do not see myself changing. . . even if I could afford. . .
I had to add wheels under the cabinet for transport (back strain) and they will soon drop. . . I will opt for the wheels of tractor later ;-)
    Heavy? certainly
Large? too, but the sounds and feel are worthy of its mass.
I have been "given" to 1500F (230 €), but I returned to the same for 3 times!

    Acoustic Model 220Published on 08/15/11 at 17:18
The Acoustic 220 is a solid state bass guitar amplifier. I've used the amp in the studio, although it's good for any sort of application. It has 160 watts of power and has connections for a speaker in the back as well as for your instrument in the front - one at 0 db and one at -15 db.

    UTILIZATION

It's not too hard to use the Acoustic 220, but there's still a good amount of control here, including a fantastic equalizer. The main controls are knobs for volume, treble, midrange, and bass, but it also has a five band graphic equalizer for extra control. I've never seen a manual for the 220 and don't think I ever will.

    SOUNDS

I'm a big fan of the way the Acoustic 220 sounds. It has a nice and deep sound that is great for recording. We were using the amp with a 2 x 12 Fender bass speaker cabinet, which of course is a great speaker, although I'd be curious to hear the 220 with something made from Acoustic. The session bass player was using a few different bass guitars, including a vintage Fender Jazz Bass and a Hofner - both of which sounded greet. Of course it helps when the player is fantastic!

    OVERALL OPINION

The Acoustic 220 is a great vintage bass guitar amp head. It's great for any and all use and for players of all types. I've only used it with a Fender speaker cabinet and would like to hear it through other speakers to get more of an idea of the amp's versatility, but with the Fender cab I could tell that it's really a nice sounding amp. I don't know much about the price, but if you can get one used at an average price for bass amp, it's probably a good deal for this workhorse of an amp.
