Aguilar AG-500SC

Amplifier transistor.
250W into 8 ohms or 500W into 4 Ohms.
Input jack with a-10dB pad, speaker output (2 Speakon jacks and 2), effects loop with series or parallel volumes send and return, DI output pre or post preamp.
In terms of settings: Gain, 4 band eq and master.

UTILIZATION

Configuration very simple.
The manual is very amber but not really necessary, it's really a breeze.
The sound is not good but excellent.
All of this amp is simple, no frills, only the useful and effective.

SOUNDS

I play in a variety of musical styles ranging from Afro jazz to death metal, to progressive jazz, disco, rock'n'roll, funk reggae and others. We draw what we want from this amp and the sound is always perfect. It fully respects the sound of the instrument connected.

OVERALL OPINION

I do not use that but recently I won! I had more than 10 amps, all major brands (EBS, Genz Benz, Ampeg, Trace Elliot, Markbass and so on) and, for me, none of them comes close. The eq is quite efficient. The power does not fail. It is obviously expensive, but perfection has a price! This choice I would do without hesitation, or else I would take maybe a DB751 if I had a little more as ...

Aguilar is the head AG500SC transistors. It dlivre 250W into 8 ohms or 500 watts into 4 ohms.
The connection in between is of course in jack 6.35 (switchable between passive / active). Output choice or Speakon Jack 6.35.
A DI XLR Obviously well. Possibility to connect a footswitch.
The qualisation is done by four rglages.

UTILIZATION

The config is very simple, one between the rglages SERIES in on the front ...
The sound is always good and easily adjustable trs trs stretched on a pallet.
Against the manual for more than brief, but has there really need??

SOUNDS

Trs is neutral, so suits me perfectly with the VBass.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for two months.
It is much easier and more adjustable than my old Trace Elliot AH250 that I was flying.
It is a bit CHRE, but what statisfaction ... Without hsiter, I would choose the same.

UTILIZATION

Ultra easy to use. It was immediately a good sound, that makes you want to play, without the fuss.

SOUNDS

Good sound throughout the range, clear and detailed. Book a particular grain, but in great respect of his bass. Made it very beautiful, much more than the majority of hybrid tube amp.

Not content to offer an astronomical fishing and a dynamic range of crazy, this thing is super powerful.

The top, except a slight buzz on the limit of the effects loop (though I also wonder if the settings for send and return do not exceed 100% ...?).

Simple and brilliant.
