UTILIZATION

With the head, I bought a 4x10 cab Neo.
Configuration is very simple. No need to book.
Gain, bass, middle and treble and volume.
15000 No buttons are useless.
All flat and it already sounds great.
The settings are there to approach a style to correct the sound.

SOUNDS

I play in a rock band on a Jazz Bass and Precision.
Pick and fingers.
I wanted a real clear and accurate sound, I served with the head!
The effect level, I limit myself to a Fulltone Bass Drive. I rediscovered this pedal with this amp.
In drop D, D keeps all its attack and is super accurate.

OVERALL OPINION

10 months ago I used a 4x10 cab with Neo and clear that this is the best config in which I played. This is exactly what I wanted.
I played on the Fender, Ampeg and the EBS and I sincerely feel they have completely changed category.
Both in sound and aesthetic level, the "big" brands could take lessons.
At price / quality ratio, compare with HIWATT or another model "Full tube" and you will see it is more than good!
Icing on the cake, Fred (the boss Chillbass) is excellent advice and available to answer any questions.

Poncepilat very well to the characteristics of the beast. Detail Funny, I have exactly the same config 'him (with a 2x15 cabinet' so). However, I first had the cabinet and, by dint of hardships, I paid the ad hoc head. I used before a Tech21 VT Bass preamp with a head Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 excellent in its field (class D).
I've always wanted to go on the all-tube, despite a bad experience with Traynor (but I must be bad timing). I do not like widgets with lots of pitches and potchs, so here there is little knobs to turn, it's great: nothing superfluous therefore (Volume-bass-treble-mid-master) plus a knob presence.
The building exudes quality (even more than the speaker), the details are cared for and the top handle has indestructible air. It is worth noting, height of refinement, it is a reminder of the grid on the front of my amp a little at Egnater. Superb.

UTILIZATION

As I said above, there are no knobs to turn 60 in a vacuum. The controls are simple, intuitive and effective. Any bass player with some experience will gain a great sound quickly, no need to book. I stoner rock with a big sound scooped and overdrive. I've got two excellent fuzz and overdrive pedal format that I use alternately. I was looking for a clear amplifier with high dynamic, very organic sound, which has made the volume (the famous "3D" in the previous opinion) and cash out my pedals Mazzette, Arts and Bloodshed in my Zombie Mammoth. The sound is far better than anything I've tried. My old sound system and flat riquiqui next (and I was proud). You can push a little preamp but it does not seem to me that really made my new girlfriend. For the hard, rock, blues, reggae, soul and other vintage stuff is nickel. With a good OD or a good fuzz above can be progenitors of all fatter styles (yum!) while maintaining excellent sound. I use my Ibanez ATK and my Japanese Wild Custom. I look forward to also test with my old Danelectro. I love all the sounds that can be learned, they are all usable for one style or another. Nothing to throw away!

OVERALL OPINION

I have recently. I had a lot of stuff and I've tried many things but here we are in the very upscale while remaining lower than machined price amps (Ampeg, Orange, Ashdown, ...) I have long played a Genz Benz and Ashdown ABM 500 I paid almost the same price at the time. The sound and dynamics are simply incomparable, even if I like Ashdown. This is 100 times hotter and it pierces into the mix in a wonderful way. The bass and treble are accurate, without being neither muddy or shrill.
The value is indecent. Everything is made by a true craftsman Southwest who loves his work and takes the time to communicate. And it does not hurt, amps are beautiful.

UTILIZATION

I play in a metal band and I was looking psychedelic prog sound very typical 70 '
and with this amp and speaker I found my "Holy Grail".
this is hot (boiling limit) accurate even drop D, striking, in a word it is nirvanesque!
I play on a 4001 Rickenbaker 76 without effect pedal and the result is as I said above: nirvanesque.
I think you have to be deaf not to realize the possibilities of this amp.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this material for three months and if I waited to give my opinion it is because I was waiting for the running lamps so that it can be completed to their full potential.
I had the opportunity to play Ampeg, Traynor Chillbass and I chose French because it is beautiful and it is excellent.
there is a period of two months between ordering and receipt of materials, but when you unpack the equipment that connects and its low, it is said that one has come to expect.
not only I would do this choice without hesitation but I recommend it to anyone who wants to get into the sound lights, you will not regret your choice!

I play mostly garage rock and pop this amp is versatile and trs passes easily one of its type HIWATT has the roundness of an ampeg. I mainly play a epiphone Cassady and I can say that I have redcouvert my bass! alternating channels we go to a brilliant and slamming a desire to round well type 70 short a killer!!

I've recently l and is a time limit for making handmade c is the good thing MRIT!! but worth it to wait .....
tries having been registered moult (HIWATT, ampeg, orange, Ashdown, Marshall) to name it this amp is by far the best that I've had hands the sound is consistent with my expectations it competes here with the custom home matam is to say! Matamp is chosen as in the same color mine is green twinkling little dil (thank you Fred!)
if I do it again the same choice ho yes! and say that I was eyeing the English and other amricains ben in France and we can do as well and for a price more than correct!!

This is an all-tube amp head with four lamps mounted preamp (3 and 1 ECC83 12AT7) and four 6550 power tubes. This amp was made 100km from my hand, and designed by Fred, Sir Chillbass, which is really a great guy. In addition, the unit to a wild look! It is also inspired by the patterns of Hiwatt, but beware, this is by no means a copy!
The settings are simple and effective, and I am fully satisfied: bass, mid, treble and presence (the latter proving to be dominant when I use my fuzz and my distortion). Honestly, this configuration seems to me the best, compared to my old head Hartke HA3500 with this horrible graphic equalizer. There are also two connectors jacks (each with a connection active and passive) normal and bright, allowing a broader pallette of sound. I alternate and to have a more round on the normal input, and his "slamming over" the bright, pretty nice with my distortion. It therefore has a volume for each entry, and a master volume.
The power output is 200watts (tube ladies and gentlemen!) And was in the back of the beast two connectors to select 4, 8 or 16 ohms.

UTILIZATION

Is this amp suits my style of music?! I play rock and roll hardcore, tends Henrix and The Who, through the dirty blues of Johnny Winter and Rory Gallagher, and Hard Rock Led Zep.
I have a heated probe (boiling!), Round, strong, fleshy, with the growl spoken, chubby, makes you shake in low and you cry in the treble, is the kind of sound that takes you by the pass, you cares a great kick in the c **, let you down and that makes you want to return.
I play with a precision (fantastic) in '78, I tell you, it's a killer! It's simple with this amp, and with this bass, I was never as crazy and happy.
Then there is the time when you will tell me "it is 20 times too that guy" so let me explain: yes I'm 17 but I play as a group for 5 years, and I still played several times (and when I say that is more that I just returned from a tour in Portugal, I played two years in a row at Rip Curl Music Festival which hosted 20,000 people each year, two years ago j 'did 18 concerts each day on the Atlantic coast between Bidart and Brest) and that they are all concerts both in pubs bayonne / hossegor as scenes, all spread over the year.
As for my knowledge of other tube amps, I have a little: I had the opportunity to test the series legacy in ampeg, the terror of Orange, the Blue Line, the markbass, of Ashdown in concert and also the SVT PRO, SVT classic on which I enrgistr & e in the studio, and all this again with my accuracy. Verdict: the B200 Chillbass from home and the best I've ever had. It's not the Ampeg, which can sometimes offend, it's nothing, it's a mix between a thick sound without drooling everywhere as the ampeg, which wants a versatile amp but remains in the mind vintage I like rock so much. To get an idea is almost the sound of bass master John Entwistle on Who's Next.
I also have two effects:
- El Grande Bass Fuzz MXR home that I find is a fuzz over couillue the big muff I had tried to Ocassion but had not as it pleased;
- The tech 21 vt bass that I think needs no introduction, and that gives me one distortion fleshy and bluntly always in the spirit of John Entwistle sound but this time in live, or Lemmy.
This amp satisfies me a lot, but it is obviously also due to the baffle which is also fantastic, and I can devote myself to a more funky style flip-top, or a sound and aggressive in line the bass sounds punks like The Bouncing Souls and Rancid (thanks to the tech 21 too).


OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 months, and compared to my old Hartke, there is no comparison. And the same for an ampeg. What I like most is his monstrous look, sound, simplicity in mind, the fact that Fred is manufactured by hand in Pau, the price is super accessible in view of the it is, and that if I ever have a problem with, bein I not have to wait a long time as if I had ordered online, but an hour car manufacturer that is me repairs or other'm ready with a smile.
This choice I would do without hesitation, so I'm satisfied Chillbass (either the amp or speaker).

The amp is a whole lamp, 200W.
It is based on a HIWATT DR103 changed from 200W and a lot to change his side. Rounder, warmer, not high gain. HIWATT I owned a 200 and a 200 orange and I must say that his level, there's no picture, I prefer. One branch, and it sounds now. settings are used to sculpt the sound according to its preferences, and a small mention for the "presence" which acts a lot about a distortion or a big muff.

OVERALL OPINION

The best amp that I've played in a long time, the HIWATT is a legend, chillbass managed to bring a little something extra that really makes the difference! hot and now the sound goes perfectly with my fender US Plow.

value for money is more than good, € 1480 including taxes for any head lamp made in France in the quality of a Hiwatt (€ 1,000 and less), it did not photograph. In addition, the finish is perfect and I love the logo.

The only downside is the lack of outlet for the DIY scene but with a good micro baffle, it goes great!

I would strongly advise choosing Chillbass, in addition, the boss, Fred is super friendly and in touch, more than friendly.
