The Testa Rossa 60's rock.

Recovered for a few euros in a wreck and spruced up the cause. Very well built, drawing a little convoluted but effective, ultra strong but heavy (26kg).
Two channels:
Channel 1, without interest (few settings: Low - Med - Hi - Flight), but interesting to play at very low volume
Channel 2, with double entry (Bright and Normal), Bright Switch (Bright, Super bright 1 and 2), Sensitivity (input gain), Bass, Mid, Treble, Volume.
2 outputs, connected with a power Geloso kind (to replace the XLR for convenience), with impedance selector (4-8-16-32 Ohms). Absent cause, a stand-by switch has been placed.

UTILIZATION
CAUTION! It was not easy to get the actual wiring diagram. For lovers of Davoli, pay attention to several things: 1. brand tended to create lots of models from different combinations of preamp / power stage. Depending on the year of production, the same model can have different characteristics or, alternatively, two different models have the same configuration peuvnet 2. beware of possible "changes" made by handymen these amps over time and, more importantly, the patterns lurking on the net. Many have errors. Vigilance so! For an interesting collection of schematics and verified Davoli:

As for the amp in question, very simple configuration, we obtain a fast decent sound. The EQ provides great maneuverability and helps sculpt the sound in interesting ways. The power output is amazing, with this unusual deploy a warm sound, full and round with a very low volume quality. No need attenuator like many of the same power amp (Marshall Orange? D)
Personally, I use it as Guitar amp: it works very well in Bass (but, as mentioned by another user, it is ill-suited to today no limit) and excels in the amplification of organ.
SOUNDS
Great for blues, sixties music, surf music, styles that I play with my band. This amp also suit for pop rock, psychedelic rock, ska and other styles sturdiest rock.
I made him a 2x12 cab with Eminence "The Wizard", the best combination, in my opinion. Other combinations not working hard (V30x, G12H30s, Greenbacks) but Eminence are a cut above.
The clean sound is very well articulated without lens because it is very hot (without the "icepick" found in some Fenders, Peavey etc..) And can easily flirt with a slight saturation, very nice for fans of the genre , by adjusting the gain. With the setting of "sensitivity", we can keep a clean sound with very (very, very) high volume and get an interesting distortion at low volumes. Moreover, this gain control doubles as an effect of "presence" blowing sound without saturating to (0-1.5), creating a subtle crunch, whose solo blues and surfmusic are fond (2 - 4). Beyond (4-10), the amplifier will deliver a stronger distortion between that of a Twin and that a Selmer Treble and Bass. Depending on changes in EQ switch and brightness, you can get a pretty fat crunch to a tinsel fuzzy overdrive. For my part, I remain with a "sensitivity" of 2/10 and "pushes" with an overdrive and a clean boost for solos.
Very typical, therefore, with less precision than a Fender Bassman (which it takes a lot of features) but handling and temperament. This strong character 60's delight fans of the genre and goes excellently with strong vintage guitars (Klira Lady Goldentone Ibanez, Framus, fender Jaguar) is respectful of effects. I hope that in the wide range of settings offered by this amp, the more modern style guitarist can find one or the other most common sound. But ultimately, it's too typical to speak of "versatile" amp.
I adjoins a reverb tank in front, with overdrive and tremolo. I do not need anything else! The more I play with, the more I like the typical sound of this machine. Unlike other amps already had in my possession, I never imagined resale.
OVERALL OPINION
An excellent machine, not too rare to find but not easy to fix (you must know), which will allow fans of the genre out of the classic choices of amplification cheaply. Note that for some time the price of the amp in Davoli state is exploding. Go on Ebay to convince you. This does not mean that the Parma brand has emerged as jewelry, far from it, but some are particularly well constructed and interesting. Mine would be 350-400 euros if I intended to resell.
At the time, I wanted to buy an amp "vintage" but the "big" brands were unaffordable me and my nest egg has allowed me that Davoli, dug up in a weird guy in Hainaut (Belgium). All in all, this is a choice I have never regretted.
Powerful, handy, reliable and exotic. Having already seen spent many amplifiers in my eyes and ears, this Italian machine 45 years holds a candle to other gear manufacturing refined. Tested A / B with an Orange amp from 1970 (the same power), the Italian proved much more usable and at the level of accuracy, the English did not lead the widest we have have thought ...
I'll post an audio sample of the amp in the course of next week.
