Hartke HA4000

I got this unit from a friend who was getting out of playing bass. He sold it to me with the head, and two cabs, for 500 bucks... sweet deal, eh?

I love the shapeability of the sound. There is a knob on here that you can fiddle with called Dbass. It's for "dynamic bass" and if you have a 15"+ speaker, you can really shake the walls.

Absolutly nothing. It's perfect in every way.

this is constructed very well. after 2 years of giging with it's former owner, it's still in perfect working order.

Very Very good. I love it. Haven't had to push it past 5 in any sort of gig situation.

A transistor amplifier completely, from 400 watts into 4 ohms and 290 watts into 8 ohms
simple connection of utilistation
not very simple with adjustable parametric equalizer
but good potato

UTILIZATION

The config is very simple, the sound is very transistor,
little warm and round, it is difficult to get a sound that fits you if you like roundness and warmth, dynamic c'eest very little to be ca blues rhythm and blues and even the rock,

SOUNDS

For me it's not my amp, I seek an ampeg head because I play blues and rock, however my active jazz bass us a very good rendering, exept in the roundness and warmth,,,
I like this amp because it is very effective, but poorly suited to my game,
it's a good amp for a modern sound and music that sends,
So much for my part I'm going to separate,

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several months, suiuvant the studio and I repeat the baffle is available I find that I will sound good in any cabinet ampeg or SWR on it sounds better in my case,
I try the 3500 ha before and I prefer the 4000 ha of INPED for some reason, it works 4 or 8 ohms, it suits me because I have a Hartke 410 XL speaker config etampeg SVT 410 HE It gives vitality and a little more roundness,,,
value for money is exellent although sonb does not suit me,,,
I would do not buy this head, I would opt for either a hybrid or head lamp, in all this is a very good amp, it's on if you like the sound, especially as le'equaliseur setting provides a good range of sound,,

Transistor amp head (apparently made in USA) rackmount 400W into 4 Ohms and 290W into 8 ohms.
Connectivity rather complete: 2 entries active & passive facade.
On the back: send & return for pre and post EQ. A preamp or DI post EQ. Same effect send & return.
Tuner jack, footswitch jack to mute and output doubled to 2 speakers (if it does not bridge)
Only downside: no headphone jack.
Any format is jack.

Side entrance: no gain, contour and frequency button to drag the stroke effect on a frequency. A master who gives the output level.

EQ side: a DBass which boosts subwoofers, a bass, a low-mid, hi-mid and treble.
The party has a medium level setting of the correction (-15, +15 dB), a frequency which is centered correction and adjustment of the shape of the curve correction.
All buttons are "notched" it might seem to limit the possibilities of settings .... not: The corrections are very effective. Add to that the adjustments on the bass and the nuances of the game .. There is plenty to do.

The rest: a mute swicth, qqs LED walking, clip and protection.
Two beautiful handles on the front to install and a side handle for carrying.
Routing is printed on the box.

Personally I put a 9 because I like the parametric EQ and this one is complete and expanded.

UTILIZATION

Simple operation. I still walked the record (in X language) to not miss.
So the record is made is sufficient.

SOUNDS

Sonority. That is a point that we could talk longer.
I come from a 120W amp rather average (or very oriented) side tones. My choice was moving initially to a hand amp beefy power and light. All prices and discouraged me the feedback I had often mixed. In the radius big sound, there's handmade U.S. labor bill is also handmade U.S. ... (We have something for nothing, but this is certainly not for me)
Hartke has this reputation of making good value for money. I tried.

My config is HA 4000 for the head and cabinet in 410VX (4x10 "+ horn membrane carton)

I play folk (Irish) with bass, fretted and fretless bass. QQC I needed to make the small stage that is effective and versatile. It also takes on the hefty power to relieve his sound with the satellites do not really swing 300W 230 Hz ..

I managed through the EQ to find a sound that suits me for amplified bass. Clear, punchy, no overcharged blur in the lower medium. It's the bass that I was a problem because often the other amps and PA systems, sound is "cardboard" with piezos and difficult to manage with a static.
Here I am carving a sound that responds (so far) the best that I hear in acoustics.
For low power, no problems, they are all active and two corrections on the bass is more than sufficient.

The only "obligation" is to play with a limiter to avoid "pum pum" too present on the rope or dropped rope choked.

OVERALL OPINION

I have been using qqs weeks. The purchase of head: 230 € and 250 € in opportunity for the baffle.
At this price I am very satisfied, even if you get used to having instant moult watts and a 1x15 "I almost try (and buy the break also for moving this orgy of material!)

For the comparative part, no. I have not tried to representatively other amps. There have been landed with all the gear in a store that has plenty of amps. Difficult.

What I like least: the weight. It weighs a 4X10 and head is more than 10Kg. We need friends!

With the same budget, I will ever be the same choice. With Euro mess, maybe I fell for a 450W Class D 10kg, Danish or English full digital in the same genre.
