Published on 05/06/10 at 15:00Black, 15 watt practice amp.
I bought it with my first bass. I think it was $100 at the time, but I'm not sure, probably cheaper, you can definitely get one cheaper now.
It is a great little practice amp, and a great amp for beginners who are getting started with there first electric bass. If you are just playing with yourself or with some other either quite acoustic instruments or lower volume electric instruments, you will be fine.
It's not very powerful, but then again its not supposed to be. Back when I first started playing I brought this amp to a drummers house to try and jam with some guys, and I could not hear anything over the guitars and especially the acoustic drums. If yo…Read moreBlack, 15 watt practice amp.

Back when I first started playing I brought this amp to a drummers house to try and jam with some guys, and I could not hear anything over the guitars and especially the acoustic drums. If you want to play with a band you will need a more powerful amp. You will defiantly need something more powerful to play for a crowd of more then a few people.
Built to last, its a great little amp and does its job well. You should not have any problems with the speaker blowing out even at its loudest volumes.
For the money and for a beginner or for practice, its a great amp! I recommend it.

Published on 12/28/03 at 15:00got it and a 15 ft cable from my friend John for $30. (you probably won't be able to find one for so cheap)
It is a totaly awesome first amp to own. When you are practicing on your own, it can get as loud as you need it to. Has a great tone to it when adjusted correctly. Good price to, even if you have to buy it new.
Not very loud when you practice with the band. I have been using this amp to practice with the band and it is always drowned out by the guitar and drums. When you get it loud enough to hear, the sound quality gets worse.
It's great. I've unfortunatley dropped it on it's side plenty of times and it doesn't seem to phase it at all. Just don't drop it out of a 10 story building…Read moregot it and a 15 ft cable from my friend John for $30. (you probably won't be able to find one for so cheap)

Awesome 1st amp, but when you need more than personal practice it becomes obsolete.

Published on 11/03/03 at 15:00Bought it at Sound Control Glasgow, Scotland for £89 (got tuner with it for £11)
Great versitility with a PJ bass with it in the live tone position and both P/U's working at max volume. You can also select your midrange frequencies!
Vibrates everything arround you like in an earthquake when at max gain on the Amp. Also has a bad sound with bad cabels and connectors!
Built like a tank that has had morters fired at it. dropping / bumping it will cause NO harm at all.
Built well, great versitility, good tonal control, and wach the gain!!!

Published on 07/19/03 at 15:00I got it at Heartland Guitars for $110
It's a good beginner amp. It was my first amp. It's built like a tank, I made the mistake of dropping it down stairs and it was fine.
It's pretty loud for only 15 watts.
The only problem I've had with it is when you turn the high mid and high knobs yu get some humming.
Like I said, it's built like a tank.
It's a good beginer amp

Published on 04/01/03 at 14:00I bought this at a Guitar Center, I was going to get the Squire bass pak, but they were out so I got a Squire Bass(UH) and this baby. i PAID AROUND $100.
I like that this bass amp is cheap, and its from Crate, also it has some controls. The cabinet is sealed, wich some people like and some people dont. The tone is not to much varied, but its better than some. It plays pretty loud, yet I would not even reccomend playing it with a group, I tried to play with a guitarist who had the guitar crate practice amp, same watts, and he was blowing me out of the water.

NOt loud enough- great for practice, but cant keep up because of its 8" speaker and small watts. I am now having to look for a bigger amp to play in a full band( brass, sax) situation. I am now playing on my guitarists Blues Deluxe 410 Fender amp.
Also, the cabinet is sealed, so you cant put your cord and stuff in the back if you are going to a small pl;ace to play or something. Not a big deal, but it dosent fit in my case.
Nice constuction, not too worried about it breaking, although I havent kicked it off a stage. Its really just sitting under my keyboard amp in a little nook. Nice spot too.
So, in conclusion, this amp is great for a kid dtarting out, or for someone that needs a practice amp. But I dont reccomend it for someone who is starting unless you are "financially sound" enough to buy another if the time comes, or if you are sure that you wont be playing with someone else for a few years or whatever. Great amp, just not good for loud bass.

Published on 09/12/02 at 15:00I bought this amp a few months ago at Italmelodie in Montreal. I paid about 100-130 bucks for it.
I think its a pretty solid amp. it isnt too loud and the equalizer works pretty well.
The speaker extension isn't very loud, even with a 180 watt speaker. The patch cord buzzes alot (but that could just be because of my patch cord).
sturdy, portable, pretty good sound.
Its not that great, but if your just starting out, or just need a practice amp that wont wake up your entire city, its perfect.

Published on 07/20/02 at 15:00I bought the amp over ebay for about $70.00
I had been looking for a practice amp, so i went to look at a music store, they showed it to me, i said that i would be back for it, but instead i got it over ebay way cheaper.
It is small, lightweight. It is a solid state with a tube sound. Black tolex covering.
Only one extension speaker jack. Is not very loud.
Very sturdy material. Black tolex covering. It has held up very good.
This is not the best amp there is, but it is good if you are just starting or want something small.
