Matlabass « Powerful, lightweight, amazing. »
Published on 06/20/14 at 06:32Transistor amp, 500 watts with an external speaker, 350 watts all by itself. Standard connectivity, but external output jack, no speakon. A loop for effects, an input to, 1 headphone, 1 input switch. His palette setting is classic: gain, bass, bass mid, treble mid, treble, master. An integrated distortion (level, drive) switchable by swicht. One low input. Three snaps for coloring the sound: vintage, outline and bright. A switchable tweeter.
UTILIZATION
Fender were inspired by Genz Benz amp they bought, keeping the dough Fender Bassman. The sound is surprisingly powerful for a 2x10 "that weighs 16 kgs in total. The distortion is excellent and perfectly balanced with clear sound (you do not lose any bass). Three types of sounds can be combined to get the real vintage slap rough through fat guy QOTSA. No manual, it's a combo for bass. Sound is live, no frills.
SOUNDS
I played on just about everything, from mainframe to combo, I was amazed by the texture of the combo, its ridiculous weight and powerful sound. Do not look with this combo sound flat and crystalline "accurately reflects the range of your instrument." This is an amp to personality: we feel from the start. It was made to please those who love the bass is present and sounds good in the middle of the group. And he does it very well. Rather connoted "rock" (with cable distortion factory, it seems obvious), but there is no shame on the slap. Distortion is warm and colorful, very successful for an all transistor. I for 10 days, and I'm sell all my equipment (head, pedals, multi-effect, etc. ... see my listings AF). This is the sound I was looking for 20 years. For a ridiculous price. I do not know how they manage to sell an amp of this type at this price! But other brands will be hot to align.
