Fender Rumble 60

I bought the Rumble 60 from Guitar Center because my friend who works there said this 60 watt growler is clearer than the crates and the behringer amps and can compete with some of the 100 watt amps in terms of power. I paid $200 for my rumbler.

I love this unit because it is a very versatile amp that has enough power to be a good practice amp and for small gigs. It has a glowing red light so whenver you hit notes it just lights up. It also allows you to do almost anything in terms of recording, effects etc.

This thing is pretty dense and heavy at around 50 lbs. Other than that, it's pretty good.

Fender is like the Chevy of the guitar world. This thing is a rock. Solid.

Every bass player should buy this as thier practice amp. Even though I've used it for small gigs, it doesn't have the power for moderate gigs but is perfect for practice and you won't be overshadowed by the guitarist. It fits perfectly in my college dorm. At around $200, it can't be beat.

The top handle is solid and can be easily moved. To mount 3 floors without elevator you can easily find the best catch. It is done very well.

UTILIZATION

The configuration is very simple and the two pages of the manual are clear and sufficient.
We easily obtain the sound you want. The 4-band settings are effective.
The mid scoop was not necessary, I sometimes use it.

On the CD input in I do not know the characteristics and maximum input amplification. This is a detail, because it is not the main use for which it is done. But it bothers me anyway ...

SOUNDS

It is well suited to my style of music varied.
The sound of little to heavy (not chubby) and "light" (but not too much).

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than 8 years.
This is my first amp. I began low and I did not test other amp before. I admit that when I bought it, I did not compare. I liked the sound, it was "easily" transportable, and I could play with me.
I realize its limits when I started playing in a group. And I quickly switch to an amp with more power.
It may possibly help to a small stage, provided a strong signal on the input ... But hey, it is not without risk! It really is as a last resort ... At the limit if you are on the eve of the end of the world or you want to add a pyrotechnic effect: D
It is still better to be in use, it is more reasonable!

- No need to climb two floors.
- Electronics (simple, clear, no fuss)
- Sufficient to move its neighbors ('should not wake up at 7am on weekends ...)

Cons:
- The red lamp
- The lack of precision in the CD input (definitely it really bothers me!)

I purchased new in 2004 at a price of € 360 ... With the experience I would take the same, but not at this price! I think the current new price for the most consistent. I want to clarify that I never compared with another amp in the same range.
In any case, I, I always used much, so I keep it!

The Rumble 60 is a transistor amp. It provides 60watts of power inputs and two 1 / 4 (passive / active).
There are no effects, there are four settings that make up the equalizer, volume and a 'mid scoop'. There are also entries 'send' and 'return' effect, a line output, a headphone output and CD input (RCA).

UTILIZATION

The setup is ultra-simple. You can get a good range of sounds. The amplifier provides a good definition of sound. The mid scoop is useful for heavy rock or metal.

SOUNDS

It's a good fender, with all the power we could apply to practice. I use it with my Squier MB-4. It provides a sound muscular and fat asse which allows me to do heavy metal.

OVERALL OPINION

After a year of use, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. He followed me in the most shabby and jams in many shows (such as monitor, it is not powerful enough alone on the stage). His sound is fat enough amp Polivalente in styles, what I've seen better. It is ideal for moving the neighbor, too.
I like the construcion: it is a robust receiver and has a beautiful look. I had a little practice amp Berhinger before. I would have liked to have one more powerful.
There is a light that increases with the intensity of the sound of the instrument. It's fun, but Fender would have put the package on the effects rather than raise the price with such inventions. For cons, I will admit that weary viewers appreciate this kind of visual effect. But I did not pay much, but if it again, I would put a little more money for a model Berhinger 100 watts. I do not regret my purchase at least, the fact remains that this is a great amp fender reasonably priced and quite powerful.

60 watts transistor in a house or a home studio, it's perfect ... no need for 300 watts for this kind of environment.

Question construction is heavy duty and well made, well finished. I appreciate, even if the bulk weight is the price.

UTILIZATION

Config simple, with a bit of simple manual clear and well done. It's a good point to have not three but four bands of EQ. The couple acessories "Mid Scoop + tube chick flashing red," I was asked if I would have Fender traded good against a good built-in compressor ... but I was not asked!

The sound is thick do you want in here. It's still super easy to carve as desired, through the mid band divided into low and high medium.

8 / 10. It could have been 9 / 10 when the pair of flashy accessories cited had been replaced by a less bêtasse function.

I am happy for all styles except metal and all that is most gross over that, and not slap either.

So, this amp suits me perfectly. The lens is not his forte, and I suspect the fault lies with this monumental mess. Those that make you say "but how can others offer bass amp with 4x10?". on the other hand, for low rumbling, it is very good, sometimes at the cost of a slight blur, a kind of imprecision in the low end. To correct, we must go back up the media, for example.

I play a Hofner Contemporary Series Violin (honestly, it's not the best combination, but with the correction of a compressor, it corrects the shot) and a Shergold Modulator, a bass that has a fucking chest behind its two humbuckers and split eight magnets (and sustain a very large too). There is quite exhilarating, even if I think the big bowl does not issue any further the potential of Shergold.

OVERALL OPINION

20/08/11:
4 years of playing with my Hofner. I once had (thirty years ago) an imitation of PB m *** e on Novanex 20 watts. I remember it sounded carton full of breath, I wanted to avoid that, it succeeded.

I find the Rumble 60 perfectly sized for my own use, and quite versatile in its settings. In terms of price, it is placed a little high. It is especially too close to the Rumble 100, or else it is downright cheap. The positioning of trade between those two seems a little fishy.

I like the modularity that allows me to find the sounds I want, I regret a little choice in the size of the bowl, but it's still the mesh.

I do not regret at all having chosen, in any case.
