Ampeg BSE410H + BSE410T
Published on 04/23/03 at 15:00I had a budget of $3000 for a bass stack. Along with an Ampeg SVP-PRO preamp, a QSC RMX1450 to back the cabs, samson airline wireless, behringer virtualizer, and a couple other odds n' ends it left me with a grand to get 2 cabs. Ampeg made the best stuff for the money and I went with the BSE series 410H and 115T strickly for budget. I paid MAP price for both, $499 and $399 respectively.
Great tone and dB output for the price. Warm tone. Clear horn. Full lows and crystal articulation in the highs. The cabs also look great. The chrome looking "a" logo and the metal grill gives it an expensive look. The chrome looking "a" logo and the metal grill gives it an expensive look. But the best thing about the cabs was that I could fit both cabs, eight space SKB rack and all my basses in a small sedan and my back felt fine. Light and compact.
Compared to cabs in the price point they do fine, but the tone is allitle too "mid-rangy" compared to such competition as the Bergentino cabs, or the SVT or PR Ampeg cabs and only having a 1/4" input stinks. Speakon is audibly better. But other than that they are great cabs.
The grills lasted. The carpet lasted. The units showed little to no travel wear, but I also take care of my stuff. But if there happen to be any problems in construction you have the wonderful company of St. Louis Music behind you.
Ampeg is king. Weather you want a super funky cab or a classic styled, super warm cab, Ampeg is the best for the money.

I play Musicman Sub 5 string and I play a little bit of everything, funk, rock, mtal, punk ...
It dlivre 200 Watts RMS into 8 ohms and the sound is clean, the bass are the acute and trs net.
SOUNDS
The sound is very well rpandu, the adjustable tweeter plays a role are marvelously slap in and coupled to a compressor, the bass is very percussive. even pushing hard trs (3 / 4) for quite some time, the saturation is low and trs cash without flinching ampeg ... what!
OVERALL OPINION

OVERALL OPINION
This cabinet has never possible to problem, it is trs reliable (I've had a year) and I'm glad trs trs! I compared it to other speakers with the same head (Hartke notament) and I found this one well above (question of taste may be).
it is easily transportable with its grips.
just little less power, if I had to choose again, I would take can be a 300 or 400 watts. j'espre soon buy a 15 inch to complete this configuration for more "big bass".See less00
