I bought the Dimarzio DP 123 J there already this year and a half, replacement pickups for my Fender Jazz Bass (Mexican). I first tried to replace the pickups with Fender Mexican Original 60's Custom, but after having installed .. I was disappointed, so I opted for the DP123 J, and MIRACLE!
The pickups have an output gain much higher than the standard microphone or the 60's I had custom fitted. The sound on the neck pickup is round, round, round! and hot. By pushing the gain, you get a pretty serious "growl", purring with great precision. I love it. Many of these mediums Netherlands microphones. We find the spirit of Fender American but with more punch I think they are more effective.
On the bridge pickup is really the top .. I play 80% of my songs with. Great for making percussive games, the treble is less pronounced than the mids, but just enough to slap a good game that does not attack. The bridge pickup is more accurate and dynamic than the neck pickup ... very good for games syncope, dead notes, percussive techniques.
Another significant point about these microphones can be adjusted small screw on each of them. Interest is to shape its sound! Increase the bass? Easy, one must loosen the screws slightly below the line of Mi More acute? same thing. Not enough mids? etc.
Very good deal, very good quality / price ratio (paid 120 euros new). I would buy eyes closed
